1.
1. Introducing your DayMark 9700
INSTALLATION AND SETUP
UNPACK THE TERMINAL
Preserving the original packing materials is advised. DayMark and other service entities
are not responsible for damaged return items that are not packaged in original shipping
material.
Set Up the Terminal
The terminal requires a flat open area with access to a standard electrical outlet. Please
ensure that there is space in front of the terminal as the touch screen rotates upward. This
allows access to replace DayMark and DayMark approved labels as well as servicing
printer mechanisms.
Plug the power cord of the terminal into an appropriate electrical outlet (100 VAC - 240
VAC, 50-60 Hz). Then toggle the power switch located at the rear of the left side of the
terminal, as shown in the figure.

1. Front Terminal Door: Rotates upward revealing label rolls and printer mechanisms.
2. Touch Screen Display: Dynamic center portion of display area. Arranges menu items
and categories, as well as supplies navigation for terminal software.
3. Function Buttons: Permanent buttons containing main menu functions.
4. Access Door: Slide down to gain access to USB, Ethernet and SD Card ports.
5. Right and Left Printer Slot: Labels are dispensed through these openings.

Print Mechanism Replacement
1. Grasp the sides of the display, then pull and lift upward.
2. The display will end in a horizontal orientation when completely open.
3. The lower terminal door should then be pulled forward and down with both hands.
4.
4. Slide the printer mechanism carefully out of the terminal.
5. Replacement printer mechanism plugs directly into the unit.
Loading Labels INTO TERMINAL
1. Grasp the sides of the display, then pull and lift upward.
5.
2. Grab blue plastic lock and slide left until the metal top opens.
3. DayMark and DayMark approved labels can then be placed into the label roll bucket. The label stock should be coming off the top of the roll.
5. Place label stock under the sensor arm in printer mechanism as shown above. Be sure
that the sensor is positioned directly over a label rather than the web (gap) between
labels, leaving three or four labels in front of printer mechanism.

6. Close the printer mechanism by rotating the cover until it latches securely. The printer will automatically align to the next label.
7. Grasp sides of display and rotate downward until it latches.
8. Pressing the left printer feed button or right printer feed button on the front of the display
several times will ensure labels are loaded correctly. Label stock may be torn off by
pulling upward or downward.

Print Head Cleaning Instructions
1.
1. Grasp the front terminal door with both hands and pull it forward and down as shown.
2.
2. Grab blue plastic lock and slide left until the metal top opens.

Clean the print head with isopropyl alcohol. Use an alcohol swab, alcohol pen or soft rag slightly damp with alcohol.
Printer Housing Cleaning Instructions
To avoid a fire hazard, occasionally disconnect the power cord from the printer and the
power supply and use soft dry cloth to clean the cord connectors and the connection
points. Leaving the cord plugged in and not cleaned for a long period, especially in an
area subject to dust oil and high humidity, could cause the insulation materials to deteriorate.
Never clean the printer with water or any flammable liquid (alcohol, benzene, thinner, etc.)
either applied directly or with a cloth. If you accidentally spill liquid on the printer, switch
the printer off immediately, disconnect the power plug from the power source and call for
service.
Use only a slightly damp cloth, thoroughly wrung out, to clean the printer surfaces. Never
use alcohol, thinner or any other flammable liquids or risk having them come into contact
with electrical components inside the printer.

1. Time and Date Display: The time shown in this bar will be used to generate expiry
and shelf life for labels. This display also shows when the terminal will time out and
log out the current user. It is important that this time display is verified and accurate.
2. Item Buttons: Individual menu items are shown as an item button on the home screen.
Once selected you can print or modify a label for that item. The [New Item] button
allows you to add a new item in that category.
3. Slider Bar: Arrow keys allow you to navigate between multiple screens of item buttons
within a category.
4. Item Category Buttons: Category buttons represent a pre-determined list of items. Items
within the category will be an identical color to the category button. Category names
are not editable on the touch screen and are pre-configured and sized.

FUNCTION BUTTONS GUIDE
Advances the label roll stock from the left printer slot.
FEED LEFT
Advances the label roll stock from the right printer slot.
FEED RIGHT
This button stops the printing of labels.
CANCEL PRINT
Swaps the user interface and navigation between default language
and alternate language.
LANGUAGE
Displays help screen and search function. Within this menu there
is contact information for DayMark Tech support as well as several
help topics with instructional walk-throughs.
HELP
This menu allows the user to access system preferences like: setting the date and time, display preferences, backup and restore,
system preferences and print settings.
SETTINGS
Returns the user to the default state of displaying current item
buttons.
HOME

Help Button GUIDE
HELP Button: The HELP button brings up a SEARCH button, help topics and a LOG OUT
button.
There are currently two help options:

Touch the GO button next to either of these options to display the appropriate HELP screen.
Pressing the GO button next to one of the above topics will load a series of graphics
walking you through the process you’ve selected. A sample screen is shown below.
Arrow keys on either side of the graphic allow you to navigate through the steps. The red X
in the upper right hand corner will close the graphic steps and return you to the main help
screen.

Search Function GUIDE
SEARCH Function: The DayMark 9700 provides capability to search for specific
items within categories by filtering the output displayed based on criteria entered by the
operator. Outlined below are the steps to follow to use the search function and examples
of the results.

1. From the HELP screen, select the SEARCH button from the bottom left side of the screen. This will bring up the SEARCH screen with its virtual keyboard.

2. Using the virtual keyboard, enter the value for the product required. In the example,
the operator is searching for any items in the product list with “sauce” in its name.

3. Press the DONE button to filter the items that will be displayed.

4. Once the filter value is entered, select a category group to display only the
products in that group that equal the entered value. In this example, it was “sauce”.

As the message states, to return to normal operation, press the HOME button on the bottom of the 9700 screen.
Setup Button GUIDE
SETUP Button: Terminal preferences and SETUP functions are accessed through the SETUP
menu. NOTE: The system may be pre-configured with an admin password. The user may
be prompted to enter this password if they are not logged in as the administrator.

SETUP functions include the following:
1. Adjust Date and Time: System date and time can be corrected in this menu.
2. Set Display Preferences: Screen brightness, screen saver settings and label button size can be adjusted in this menu.
3. Save/Load Update/Backup: This menu is used to access functions like saving/restor-
ing system or item data. Save and restore data can be transferred by USB stick, or TFTP.
4. System Preferences: Password options and label print warning parameter.
5. Print Settings: The designated printer and print layout can be assigned by item
category in this menu.
6. BACK Button: Reverts to home screen.

AdjustING Date and Time
1.
1. Adjust Date and Time: This function brings up a screen allowing you to set the current
date and time, as shown in the figure.
2.
2. Arrow Keys: For the date and time functions, use the arrow keys on the touch screen to set the day, month, year, hour and minute.
Also on this screen there is are options for toggling between 12-hour and 24-hour clock
formats (e.g. 1:00 PM versus 13:00), setting the current 12-hour format time to AM or
PM and setting the date format. To save changes press the BACK button and return to the
SETUP menu. Pressing the HOME function button cancels data entry and returns to the
home screen without saving.
Note: System date and time accuracy is critical to the proper calculation of food hold
times and shelf life. Expiry is calculated by adding a pre-determined interval to the time/
date of label creation.

SetTING Display Preferences

1. Set Display Preferences: Touch screen settings are configured in this menu all dynamic changes are immediately active.

1. Brightness: Adjust screen brightness level using the arrow keys.
2. Screen Saver Time Out: The number of minutes before a screen saver is displayed
is adjusted using the arrow keys. The screen saver function prevents visual burn-in of
current menu items on the display.
Note: Your unit will come pre-configured with screen saver display options.
3. Screen Saver Selection: Your unit can display one of three options during screen saver
mode. Use the arrow keys to select between logo, slide show and clock.
4. Label Button Size: Food item label buttons are adjustable relative to the default size.
Use the arrow keys to select a percentage larger or smaller.
5. Test Screen Saver: Temporarily displays the current screen saver selection.
6. Calibrate: When the touch screen display is misaligned recalibration will restore
appropriate functionality. The process requires you to touch three points at the corners
of the screen.
7. BACK Button: Returns you to the home screen.

Calibrating
1.
1. Set Display Preferences: This function allows you to set configuration settings for the touch screen display. All changes take effect immediately.
2.
2. Calibrate: This function is used when the touch screen display is misaligned.

3. You will be prompted to touch three points at corners of the screen to calibrate it.

Calibrating from Start Screen

1. Touch the screen and turn on the power at the same time.

2. You will see a red box with a black dot in the middle.

Saving/Loading Update/Backup
1.
1. Save/Load Update/Backup: Backups are used to edit and/or reload specific label
configurations, or to recover from hardware errors that may erase the current configuration of your terminal. You will be able to load and restore either (1) a copy of your
current system information, or (2) a backup of the label data file. This will require a
USB flash memory stick.

Options include:
1. Save Data File: A copy of your label data file (MenuData.xml) can be applied to a
USB stick for backup purposes. This file can also be edited on your computer.
2. Load Data File: Use this function to load a previously saved or edited (MenuData.xml)
file from a USB stick.
3. Update System: Use a previously saved system configuration from a USB stick to
update your system.
4. Backup System: Creates a system back up that is then transferred to a USB stick.
5. Copy Log Files to USB: Log data must be copied to a USB prior to powering down the
unit otherwise the log data is LOST upon shut down.
6. BACK Button: Returns you to the SETTINGS menu.
Note: A clean USB stick is required for a system backup.

System Preferences GUIDE

1. System Preferences: This menu gives you access to several settings that control permissions and warning settings.

1. Enter ID Required: This setting controls the requirement of a login prior to use of system
functions. Toggle using arrow keys.
2. Label Print Warning At: This setting controls the number of labels that may be requested
before a warning pop up will display. Use arrow keys to select label quantity.
3. Admin Password: This will display the current administrator password. To change the
password select and replace.
4. Enter Manager On Duty: This setting controls the managers identification on certain
label layouts.

Note: For input of alphanumeric characters you be shown a keyboard like the one in
the figure below. After typing the required information press the DONE key to save your
work, or press the CANCEL key to revert to the original field contents and return to the
previous screen.
Special characters are available as pop ups beyond their root letter. To access special
characters hold the root letter down (approximately 3 seconds) and the special characters
list will be displayed. The following special characters are available:

Configure left and right printer label layouts

1. Configure Left Print Button and Configure Right Print Button: This menu selection allows
you to set print options for specific label categories.

Printing Labels WITH YOUR TERMINAL
1.
1. Navigate to an item by first selecting the category of that item from the category bar
along the bottom of the screen.
2.
2. There may be several pages of items within a given category. Use the arrow keys
to navigate between groups of items. You can also tap along the yellow slider bar
between the arrows to jump item pages.

3. After selecting an item the print menu will appear. On the right side of the screen is a
number pad where you can enter the desired number of labels. Pressing CLR will reset
label quantity to one. After you have the correct number press PRINT RIGHT or PRINT
LEFT.
To bring up the Print Button Setup screen, press and hold either the PRINT LEFT or PRINT
RIGHT button for three seconds. You will then be able to scroll through label layouts and
select the category for each printer mechanism.
Note: Verifying the correct expiration date and time prior to printing is very important. If the
expiry appears incorrect, you can alter the current settings of the machine using the Adjust
Date and Time button on the SETUP menu.
Note: The above error messages will be generated in the case of a printer mechanism
being left open or improperly installed. Please ensure print mechanisms are closed and /or
installed correctly prior to printing.

ModifyING Labels
1.
1. The menu reached by pressing the MODIFY button allows you to delete, alter or add
field values as well as shelf life parameters.

2. If the system is not in manager mode but is configured with an administrative password,
selecting a field under the MODIFY menu will prompt an alphanumeric keyboard for
password entry.

3. The DELETE ITEM button is used to eliminate the currently selected item from its item
menu.
4. The SAVE button is used to save the changes to your item’s settings.
5. Pressing the CANCEL button will exit the menu and not save any changes.
Note: Adding the shelf life values on this screen to the current system date and time will
produce the expiration date and time to be displayed on the label when printed.

1. Caption: This is the text that will represent an item and will be the text that appears on
screen.
2. Caption_Alt1: This is the text that will appear when using an alternate language. The
user may copy the same information and only one language will be used.
3. Print Message: This is the text that will print on the label as the item name.
4. Expire1 Message: This is the text that will appear above the Expire1 date and time.
5. Expire1 Days, Hours, Minutes: These are the values that will represent the first date
and time line (Expire1).
6. Expire2 Message: This is the text that will print above the Expire2 date and time.
7. Expire2 Days, Hours, Minutes: These are the values that will represent the second
date and time line (Expire2).
8. Expire2 EDO: This is the field for a line of text to print under the Expire2 date and
time line.

Repan/Reprint
The 9700 has the option of allowing users to Reprint labels with the ability to maintain the
correct hold/discard times. The REPAN/REPRINT button is an optional button in the print
screen used to change the prep time of the next label(s) printed for times when re-pan or

Editor spreadsheet makes use of various custom macros to assist the user in building
their MenuData file and formatting for use on the 9700 printer.

brief outline of the standard label layouts available on the device.

3. The first step in preparing your Menu for the 9700 printer is to creating the Categories used to organize your Menu items.
1. Category - This field contains the Category Name. This is how you will
organize your items for display on the touchscreen. You will assign these
entries to items on the Item worksheet.
2. Color - This field is used to select highlighting for the Category buttons on
the touchscreen.
3. Print Template - This field is used to select the required Label print layout for
the Category. Normally all Categories have the same Print Layout. Select
the desired Print Template from the dropdown in this column.
4. Category Alt_Langauge - This field is used for the entering an Alternate
language for Categories. It is not required and It will auto-fill with the information entered in the Category column so it may be identical to the main
Category column.
4. On the ITEM worksheet the user will enter the Menu Items and the appropriate information regarding things such as hold times, the label Print Message,etc.
5. Once all Category, Menu Items, and appropriate information have been added to
the spreadsheet, select the ‘SAVE and EXPORT’ button. Selecting this button causes
two things to occur. First, it saves the spreadsheet in its current state for future editing. Second, the spreadsheet data will be ‘Exported’ to an XML formatted file titled,
‘MENUDATA.xml’. This file will be used to update the current Menu Data on the
9700 printer via the ‘Menu Data Update USB Instructions outlined in the next section.

5. Install the Micro SD Card gold contacts facing front of the unit. Be sure to insert the SD Card into the card port and not into the gap between the printer and the port. Inserted correctly into the card port, the SD Card will meet a slight spring resistance and need
to be pushed in until locked.
6. Power on the DayMark 9700.

• TFTP stands for Trivial File Transfer Protocol, a technology for transferring files between
network devices. It is a simplified version of FTP (File Transfer Protocol).
• Unlike FTP, TFTP has no login feature (it does not prompt for user name and password).
• TFTP generally works only on local area networks (LANs).
Local Area Network (LAN) = Intranet
Wide Area Network (WAN) = Internet

DHCP server. When DHCP mode is selected, the Static IP entry fields are shaded and the DHCP configuration information is displayed in the information window on the right side, as shown below.
9. Static IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway must be set correctly when the FST is not using DHCP. These parameters are changed by clicking on each field respectively. TFTP Overview
Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) is a file transfer protocol notable for its simplicity. It is
generally used for automated transfer of configuration or boot files between machines in a
local environment. Compared to FTP, TFTP is extremely limited, providing no authentication
and is rarely used interactively by a user.
Due to its simple design, TFTP could be implemented using a very small amount of memory. It is therefore useful for booting computers such as routers which may not have
any data storage devices.

It is also used to transfer small amounts of data between hosts on a network, such as Menu
Data or Label layouts.
To setup a TFTP Server is relatively simple. The host, most likely a brand’s corporate office,
dedicates a server in their environment to run the TFTP Serve software and assigns it an IP
Address. Depending on the corporate network setup, there may be adjustments that need
to be made to the Corporate Firewall settings to allow corporate network access.
Then the host places files, at this point either MenuData, Layouts, Batch, or Patch in a TFTP
holding folder and names them appropriately.
Menudata:
MU97xxx.xml, whereas xxx equals the brand PID
Layout:
LT97xxx.xml, whereas xxx equals the brand PID
Software/Patch: BT97xxx or appropriate Patch supplied by DayMark
The TFTP File Address field needs to be set to the IP Address of the TFTP server containing
the files for download. In the example below the IP Address is set to 162.209.2.54. This
parameter is changed by clicking on the field. Once the new value is entered, it is applied
immediately. The screen is exited and the configuration settings saved when the “DONE”
button is clicked.
Once the correct IP Address has been set the user simply ensures the 9700 is connected to the corporate network (normally a WAN, wide area network), the user presses
the appropriate button to select the file required. The 9700 printer connects to the TFTP
server, locates the appropriate files and begins the download. Progress of the download is
displayed on the right-hand side of the display. Once completed, the system will check to
ensure the file downloaded is different than what is currently loaded on the 9700. If true,
the system will update the file and request a power cycle upon completion. If false, the
system will discard the downloaded file and reset to the System Settings screen.

To add a new item: Each category contains a [NEW ITEM] button at the end of the list.
Select this button to create and add a new item to the list.
To edit an existing item: Select the item and modify button.

enter a password when the system is not already in Manager Mode. Selecting any of these fields brings up the alphanumeric keyboard.

USB Update/Backup Instructions
For saving or restoring your system configuration to a USB stick, you will be prompted to
use the BACKUP or UPDATE buttons to complete the operation. The CANCEL button will

A clean USB flashdrive is required to update the firmware for your 9700. Please see the
instructions below to initiate this update.
1. Load Update files, supplied to customer by DayMark Technical Support, onto clean
(blank) USB flashdrive.
2. Ensure that the files required for the update are in the ROOT directory on the USB drive
(meaning they are not to be inside any folder structure on the USB drive).
3. Plug in the USB drive to the side of the 9700.
4. Press the SETTINGS button and enter the admin password (Admin).
5. Select Save/Load/Update/Backup.

6. After proceeding with the BACKUP or UPDATE operation, a screen confirming this operation will appear.
In the case of a BACKUP operation, you will be prompted to insert a clean USB stick into
the device's USB port as shown above. For both BACKUP and UPDATE operations, an
error message will be generated if a USB stick is not inserted before proceeding.
1. Allow the machine approx. 10 - 20 minutes to apply the system update and the machine will prompt you to perform a power cycle.
2. Flip the power switch to the off position, wait 10 seconds, and turn the power switch
back to the on position.
3. The machine will boot up and bring you to the "HOME" screen.

configure network parameters on the 9700 the manager needs to follow the steps listed

ITHACA BRAND PRINTERS, INCLUDING THE ITHACA 9700 FOOD SAFETY TERMINAL, ARE SOLD TO CUSTOMER SUBJECT TO TRANSACT TECHNOLOGIES INCORPORATED’S MANUFACTURER’S PASS-THROUGH WARRANTY, A COPY OF WHICH
IS ATTACHED HERETO; PROVIDED, HOWEVER, THE SCOPE OF WARRANTY AND
CLAIM PROCEDURE SHALL BE AMENDED AS FOLLOWED:
WARRANTY PERIOD: The standard warranty is one year from the date of shipment from
DayMark.
CLAIM PROCEDURE: To make a request or claim for service, a Return Materials Authorization (RMA) Number must be assigned by DayMark prior to the return of the printer. Contact
the DayMark Technical Support Department at (877) 620-8878 with the model and serial
numbers of the unit needing to be repaired.
ADDITIONAL COVERAGE: Additional levels of warranty coverage type and term lengths
are available through DayMark. Pricing will be quoted separately.
CONSUMABLES: Use of any labels in the equipment other than those supplied by
DayMark shall void the warranty.
EXCEPT FOR THE WARRANTIES REFERRED TO ABOVE, TRANSACT AND DayMark
DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ALL WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS
FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
THE SOLE REMEDIES FOR BREACH OF ANY AND ALL WARRANTIES AND TRANSACT'S AND DayMark’S LIABILITY OF ANY KIND ARISING FROM ANY CONTRACT
FOR SALE OF ANY PRODUCTS OR SERVICES SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE SPECIFIC
REMEDIES PROVIDED HEREIN. IN NO EVENT SHALL TRANSACT'S OR DayMark’S
LIABILITY TO CUSTOMER FOR DAMAGES OF ANY NATURE EXCEED THE PURCHASE
PRICE OF THE PRODUCT OR THE PRICE FOR THE SERVICE FROM WHICH LIABILITY
RESULTS.
NEITHER TRANSACT NOR DayMark SHALL BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR FOR THE LOSS OF PROFIT OR
REVENUE EVEN IF TRANSACT OR DayMark SHALL HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE
POSSIBILITY OF SUCH LOSS OR DAMAGE.
64.
TRANSACT WARRANTY POLICY
TransAct Technologies, Inc. (TRANSACT) warrants this printer to be free from defects in
material and workmanship and will remedy any such defects according to the terms of this
Limited Warranty. This Limited Warranty does not extend to consumable items, including
but not limited to ribbons, inkjet cartridges, paper rolls, spindles, fuses, keys, power cords,
communications cables (external to the printer), spill resistant covers and any options,
attachments, or modifications not installed by TRANSACT.
STANDARD WARRANTY PERIOD
The standard warranty is one (1) year (12mo) from the date of shipment from TRANSACT’s
plant for the Ithaca® Brand Series 70, and the 9700 Food Safety Terminal.
The standard warranty is two (2) years (24 months) from the date of shipment from the
factory for the Ithaca® Brand POSjet® 1500, BANKjet® 1500, BANKjet 2500, Series
90PLUS, Series 150, Series 800, Epic 950®, Epic 430®, Epic 630®, Epic 880®,
Ithaca® 8000, Ithaca 8040, and the Ithaca 9000.
TRANSACT’S iTherm™ 280 Printers come with a standard three (3) year (36mo) from the
date of shipment from the factory.
The standard warranty is 90 days from the date of shipment from TRANSACT for the Printrex 980 model printer. The standard warranty is one year from the date of shipment from
TRANSACT for Printrex Brand printers other than the 980.
PRINTREX CONSUMABLES WARRANTY - TRANSACT warrants that the thermal print
head will be free from defects for Expected Life of the print head but not more than one
(1) year from the date of purchase. The Expected Life of the print head is considered
to be the lesser of, A) fifty (50) kilometers of delivered media or B) one hundred million
(100,000,000) pulses of an individual print element (approximately 12.7 kilometers of
converted printout for any given print element).
TERMS OF STANDARD WARRANTY
To make a request or claim for service, a Return Materials Authorization (RMA) Number
must be assigned by TRANSACT prior to the return of the printer. Contact the Technical
Support Department at (877) 7ithaca or (607) 257-8901 with the model and serial numbers of the unit needing repair. The printer must be returned to TRANSACT or an authorized TRANSACT repair center, shipping prepaid, in the original shipping container and
packing materials or in suitable packaging to as to not sustain damage in shipping. See
the unpacking instructions in the Operator’s Guide or Quick Reference Sheet to correctly
repack the printer. TRANSACT does not assume the risk of loss or damage during transit.
If the original shipping container and/or packing materials are not available, they can be
purchased from TRANSACT.
65.
TRANSACT USA will repair (or at its option, replace) at no charge any defective component(s) of the printer. TRANSACT USA and Authorized Repair Centers will pay the return
shipping fee back to the customer at UPS Ground rates or equivalent within the continental
United States. TRANSACT USA shall pay a maximum $10.00 USD for the return shipping
fee for printers shipped outside of the continental United States under this warranty. Duties
and taxes, if levied, shall be the sole responsibility of the customer.
TRANSACT U.K. will repair (or at its option, replace) at no charge any defective component(s) of the printer. TRANSACT U.K. will pay the return shipping fee back to the customer
using TRANSACT’s selected method of transit. Duties and taxes, if levied, shall be the sole
responsibility of the customer.
TRANSACT will furnish all tools, test equipment, parts and labor necessary to service the
printer. Consumable items requested of TRANSACT such as ribbons, inkjet cartridges, paper rolls, spindles, fuses, keys, power cords, communications cables or spill resistant covers
will be provided for an additional charge (per TRANSACT current pricing schedule ).
No attachments or alterations should be made without prior written consent of TRANSACT. If any such attachment or alteration, in the opinion of TRANSACT, interferes with the
normal and satisfactory operation or maintenance of the printer, TRANSACT may refuse
to repair such products. This includes any printers with serial number tags that have been
removed, altered, or in any way made illegible

EXTENDED ONE YEAR WARRANTY
Additional warranty coverage for one year beyond the Standard Warranty Period, as
defined above, may only be purchased when the printer is ordered. Printers covered by
the extended warranty must be returned in the same manner as described above under the
Terms of Standard Warranty.
TRANSACT USA will repair (or at its option, replace) at no additional charge, any defective component(s) of the printer. TRANSACT USA and Authorized Repair Centers will pay
return shipping back to the customer at UPS Ground rates or equivalent within the continental United States. Shipping costs for printers located outside the continental United States
will be the sole responsibility of the customer both to and from TRANSACT USA. Duties
and taxes, if levied, shall be the sole responsibility of the customer.
TRANSACT U.K. will repair (or at its option, replace) at no charge any defective component(s) of the printer. TRANSACT U.K. will pay the return shipping fee back to the customer
using TRANSACT’s selected method of transit. Duties and taxes, if levied, shall be the sole
responsibility of the customer.
66.
The above Warranties shall not apply if the product has been damaged due to abuse,
misuse, misapplication, accident, shipping damage (due to insufficient or incorrect packing
as advised on TRANSACT packing instructions found in the Operator's Guide or Quick
Reference Sheet), or as a result of service or modification by any other than an authorized
TRANSACT repair center. NOTE: USE OF MEDIA PRODUCTS (INCLUDING ROLL PAPER, INSERTED FORMS, TICKETS, OR LABELS) NOT TESTED BY AND APPROVED BY
TRANSACT SHALL VOID THE PRODUCT WARRANTY.
THERE ARE NO EXPRESSED WARRANTIES OTHER THAN THOSE ON THE FACE
HEREOF AND DESCRIBED ABOVE. NO WARRANTIES WHETHER EXPRESSED OR
IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE SHALL EXTEND BEYOND
THE RESPECTIVE WARRANTY PERIODS DESCRIBED ABOVE. Some states do not allow
limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply.
TRANSACT SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR LOSSES ARISING FROM THE USE OF
THIS PRODUCT.
This Limited Warranty applies to TRANSACT printers sold in the continental United States.
The warranty for printers purchased outside the continental United States may vary. Contact
your TRANSACT dealer for warranty service information.
TRANSACT also offers a DEPOT MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT that extends coverage
beyond the warranties described above. The agreement must be purchased prior to the
expiration of either the standard or extended warranty. The terms of the agreement are
documented. Details can be obtained from TRANSACT’s Technical Support Department at
(877) 7ithaca or (607) 257-8901 or from Authorized Distributors.
TRANSACT will from time to time announce the termination of production of specific products. DEPOT MAINTENANCE AGREEMENTS for discontinued products will not be sold
after the announced production end date.
TRANSACT may, at its option, alter the contents of this policy at any time without notice.
These changes will affect products manufactured after the effective date of this policy.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may have other rights that vary from state to state.
