About Momo & Dini
Two sisters from Beijing, China and recognized
artists in China; their paintings have won awards, in
China and International competitions.
Professors of Fine Arts at universities in China: Dini
taught at Fine Arts Institute of Northeast Normal University; Momo taught at The Central Academy of
Arts and Design in Beijing.
Thoroughly computer literate: they design the patterns, and digitize them themselves. The aim of
Momo-Dini Embroidery Art is to produce the best
designs with the highest standards and quality. Merging the different cultures of the East and the West
they give their embroidery new life and energy. The
designs are rigorously tested to produce beautiful
results. This saves you time and expense of repeated
trials and adjustments.
Their embroidery designs are fashioned as a form of
art. The designs are not only patterns, they are also
music and poetry that is bewitching --- sweet dreams
being dreamed.
In their designs, the fine lines, the satins, the different
stitches are not merely elements showing compositional skills, but also reflect their ability to communicate their artistic truth.

Zijuan Clouds on letter-like Placemat
The Zijuan Clouds pattern is a traditional Emperor’s palace embroidery design. It is a richly
elegant design, which was traditionally sewn on
the Emperor’s banners and palace decorations.
The Zijuan Clouds design derives from the
beautiful imagery we create as clouds transform
themselves from second to second, causing skywatchers to see in their day-dreams designs that
only exist in their imaginations .
This class answers: How to embroider on a nonwoven materials? People always ask me about
this, now you'll know the answers for yourself.
Momo and Dini have designed and digitized a
unique new flowing cloud pattern that can handle the task of embroidering on leather-like.
We will use this cloud design on a special Oval
leather placemat. Bring your embroidery machine, large hoop and sewing supplies. We'll
have the thread, fabrics, stabilizers and designs
for you to work with.
Good for Silk Dupioni or Silk Radiance from in-stock supplies. If a cotton fabric is preferred, you may substitute for 1
1/2 yards of 45” wide cotton.
