German Shepherd Rescue of New England, Inc.
The German Shepherd Rescue of New England’s Auction is one of the major fundraisers for our
rescue. Through your support today, we’ll be able to help many GSDs this coming year to find
new loving homes. We can’t do it without you!
The generosity of the GSRNE membership and friends has brought a wonderful assortment of
items to the auction table. This year Lauralee Davis will once again thrill us with her talent and
humor as auctioneer so that all of these wonderful items are sold-- hopefully at over-bid prices!!

Ava (was Baby) came to us along with 3 other
dogs when her owner was facing serious
surgeries and could no long care for her. She’d
had no socialization and had been beaten up by
other dogs in her household. Ava’s foster home
fell in love with this sweet girl and is helping
her overcome her early years.
Wiley (was Mushroom) and Holly came
from the same home as Ava. They were very
bonded and Holly was not doing well by
herself in her foster home. Fortunately,
Wiley’s adopters were looking for two dogs
and happily adopted both dogs! Such a
happy ending.
A Guide to the Auction
Live Auction- The Live Auction will begin at noon. Please come earlier so you can sign-in,
review all the auction items on display, start to bid on Silent Auctions items, purchase GSD
items at the Sales table and purchase refreshments, too.
Silent Auctions- Certain tables are designated for Silent Auction items. Visit these tables soon
after your arrival and place your bids early. You can bid any time right up until the end. All bids
must be in whole dollar amounts (no cents).
The Silent Yellow auction will end first, about 1/3 of the way through the Live auction. Place
bids as soon as you arrive! Please print clearly so we can be sure to get the correct winning
paddle number. Please leave the yellow sheet on the table when picking up your items.
The Silent Blue auction will end about 2/3 of the way through the Live auction. Please don’t
leave before it is over if you’re the high bidder on an item. Please leave the blue sheet on the
table when picking up your items.
Remember to check the tables often to adjust your bids as necessary to remain high bidder!
Announcements will be made shortly before each Silent Auction lot is closed and we will take a
short break to allow for those last minute bids. Check that your bid is still the high bid and raise
it if it is not. Once the bid sheets are pulled the high bid on record wins! Please print clearly.
Sales Table- This table is provided to assure that absolutely everyone has the opportunity to go
home with something and thereby do their part to support the objective of the day--to raise as
much money as possible for the dogs (and to have fun, of course!)
Bake Sales/Food Table- This year we are providing sandwiches for your enjoyment and will
again be selling bake sale goods for you to eat here or bring home.
Paying For Your Purchases-Running tabs for each bidder will be maintained throughout the
Auction. At the end of the Auction, bidders will bring their bidding paddles to the Bid Recorders
who will tally up each person’s bill. Bidders can then pay by cash, check or credit cards.
All merchandise must be taken with you at the end of the auction.

In February, we received a call about a dog in an emergency situation. Her name is Kyra, and she is 3 years old.
Kyra didn't have much of an early life, so it was a blessing that she was given up.
Kyra's new owner was a kind-hearted man who had been doing both dog and horse rescue on his own for many
years. When a stall door was left accidently open, Kyra got in with a horse and was kicked breaking her femur. The
new owner rushed her to the emergency vet. He tried to get a loan, but unfortunately he could not afford the cost of
the stay/pain management from the emergency hospital or the $5500-$6500 for a Board Certified surgeon so he
asked us to take her and save her life.
Though that is a huge amount of money, we just couldn't let a nice dog die without helping. We know we have a
wonderful group of GSD lovers who move mountains to help a dog in need, and we're hoping you will all BID
HIGH to help with this mountainous bill. Thank you for caring!

Tarek found his forever home, which he shares with four cats. They welcomed him into their

Gabby’s new owner was someone who had adopted other dogs from us in the past. His last one
had passed away, and he was thrilled to have such a sweet, loving dog to add to his household.

About GSRNE
German Shepherd Rescue of New England, Inc. is a non-profit, all volunteer charitable organization. Since its founding in
mid-1996, GSRNE has provided veterinary care, and adoptive homes for hundreds of GSDs in need. The dogs were
abandoned, mistreated, neglected, or left in local pounds to await uncertain fate. Adoption services have also been provided for
GSDs who have been in acute need of placement due to changing family dynamics.
We are hoping that this annual GSRNE Auction will continue to grow towards becoming the organization’s principal
fundraising venture. Your support of the Auction, through donations, advertisements and energetic bidding, helps to ensure
that we will be able to continue to help German Shepherd Dogs in need.
GSRNE’s membership dues are $20.00 a year for an individual or $25.00 for families and include an exclusive GSRNE
membership card which provides our members with special offers and benefits throughout the year, an invitation to our
message board filled with valuable information regarding our beloved dogs, a personal invitation to our annual GSRNE

German Shepherd Rescue of New England, Inc. (GSRNE) is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3)
charitable organization dedicated to providing veterinary care, evaluation & adoptive homes for
the countless numbers of German Shepherd Dogs who are left in pounds to await uncertain fate,
are owner surrenders (divorce, death, etc.), or are from abuse or neglect situations. We help
provide a safe harbor for German Shepherds that might otherwise be destroyed.
Each dog applying to our program is evaluated for temperament and behavioral information.
All accepted dogs are spayed or neutered, updated on vaccinations, and receive essential medical
care. Then the dogs are placed into GSRNE foster homes, while they await new homes. Finally,
each dog is carefully placed in a loving home with a family that matches that dog's temperament,
activity level and needs.
