HISTORY
Digital Measurement Metrology Inc., a Canadian owned and operated company, was founded in 1989.
DMM became the new incorporated name replacing DEMTECH (Digital Electronic Measurement
Technology) which was registered by Bassant Gobin upon graduating in Electronic Engineering at Devry
Institute of Technology, Toronto, Canada in August 1982.
FINANCIAL OFFICER
Digital Measurement Metrology Inc. (DMM Inc.) was established primarily in providing sales,service and
calibration for digital readout systems, force measurement equipment, optical projectors, coordinate
measuring machines, and other metrology equipment, representing many manufacturers of brand name
instruments.
With the dawn of the ISO implementation era, in the early 1990's, DMML (DMM Laboratory), a subsidiary
of DMM Inc., was organized to provide Traceable Calibration Services required by most manufacturers
to comply with ISO-9000 and QS 9000 registration. In January 1999, DMM became one of the first
metrology laboratories in Ontario to become OEM approved to ISO/IEC Guide 25, with traceability to
NIST/NRC.
SERVICE COORDINATOR
As the automotive industry pressured manufacturers on various levels to become registered to QS-9000,
and the International Recognition of the new Calibration Standard ISO 17025:1999 (making all other
standards for calibration obsolete). It was the goal of DMM Inc. to be at the forefront of the Calibration
Business by providing our large base of customers with premium services using state-of- the-art metrology
equipment. DMM became recognized as one of the best in the industry, receiving much attention from
customers as well as associates and competitors.
In the tradition of continuous improvement and the embracing of new technology as it emerges, DMM
Group became accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:1999, including the relevant requirements of ISO 9002:1994

in November of 2000.
In September of 2002, DMM & InterScience (a large pharmaceutical instrument supplier) announced a
strategic alliance which allows DMM Inc. to provide calibration support to the pharmaceutical industry on
an international level.
We have gained a high degree of recognition and confidence from our customers over the years and we

WHO WE ARE
As a result of studies which concluded that most metrology suppliers
in Canada were using redundant Technology to provide services to local
industries, the vision of establishing a new High-Tech facility gave birth
to Digital Measurement Metrology Inc.
DMM INC. was developed from the ground up using New-Age Technology
Systems (i.e. computerized Doppler Laser), Automated Measuring Systems
and other Portable Metrology Equipment, providing a new standard of
service and calibration excellence in the field of metrology. (The Science

The DMM Group of Comanies provide sales, accredited calibrations,
service, installations, contract calibration management and training
on major metrology equipment. DMM represents a number of high
profile and respected manufacturers within North America and around
the world.
Since 1982, Digital Measurement Metrology Inc. has provided a high
level of service and installation of various metrology instruments for a
large number of manufacturers across Canada.
We strongly believe in quality work, customer satisfaction, and the
embracing of technological advancement as reflected in our Mission

LABORATORY
WHAT WE DO
D.M.M. Laboratory (a subsidiary of DMM Inc.) was established to
provide Accredited Calibration Services to manufacturers,
instrumentation companies, repair shops, service facilities and
other end-users pursuing both international export and senior
domestic markets. We also assist customers who are in process
for ISO-9000 and QS 9000 Registration. Our wide range of
services are performed in a sensitive, environmentally controlled
laboratory using state-of-the-art equipment. Typically, our lab
performs the calibration of dimensional and mechanical instruments,
machine tools, surface plates, C.M.M. and optical equipment. We
also perform laser calibrations and other services at our customer's
location using special portable equipment. These on-site
calibrations are especially useful when tooling etc. is too large to
ship to our facility.
In addition, a unique service will allow our customers to have
traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology
and the National Research Council, through International Standards
ISO/IEC 17025:1999, including the relevant requirements of
ISO/IEC 9002:1994. At present, this secondary service is only
being offered in Central Canada and the United States.

ACCREDITED CALIBRATION & CERTIFICATION
DMM provides a wide range of services performed in a sensitive, environmentally
controlled laboratory using updated equipment.
Through practice, years of experience, and automated equipment and comparators, DMM is able to provide clients
with calibration of various instruments using manufacturer's specification and ISO standards as reference. (Note: most
standards are obsolete and are replaced.) Due to the competency requirements of ISO 17025:1999, uncertainty of
measurements can be demonstrated and calculated with ease (ref: GUM). Statistical analysis and reproducibility of
measurements make this possible.

The Laboratory Accreditation Bureau is one of 4 organizations recognized by Automotive
Industry Action Group (AIAG) to accredit laboratories for testing/calibration to international
standards.
In addition, we participate in the National Association for Proficiency Testing Organization
(NAPT) to confirm technical competency for calibration services for various parameters.
The survival of competent calibration/testing laboratories will depend on the history
of the company, technical qualifications of its personnel and a solid commitment to
acquire appropriate equipment, expanding process and scope, with technological advancement in the metrology sciences. We, at DMML, have

METROLOGY TRAINING
DMM provides expert training for quality control lab personnel with hands-on
interactive training materials. Extensive equipment and thorough training
sessions optimize the time allotted to our training capabilities. Newly acquired
knowledge of procedures and standards are put to the test through trial and
analysis. A variety of training materials (videos, CD ROMs and manuals) are
used for training on complete metrology systems. Using the latest technology,
participants are allowed to gain hands-on exposure as required. They can
work with confidence in attempting to perform their own calibrations.

DMM specializes in calibration lab planning, setup and management. We offer
