Sunday School, for all ages, begins at 10:40 a.m. Jubilee Verse for the Week Psalm 107: 19, 20 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He sent out His word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave. -Pray for persons who are seeking God’s touch of healing. Pray specifically for John Bender, Michele Delp, Ev Detweiler, Bill Freed, Ronnie Knechel, Stacey Knechel, Ann Landes, Molly Worner, and Peter Zucca. -Danny Canaviri will leave on Friday for Saipan, Guam, to work with Mennonite Disaster Service for 5 weeks, helping with clean-up from the damage left by a typhoon. Pray for God’s hand of mercy to be upon Danny’s travels and work. Pray also for God’s light to shine brightly on those who the work team will be helping. -Please keep in your prayers the ongoing work of the Peter Powerhouse Foundation and the Shepherd’s Village as they continue to find ways to connect with persons in need. Pray that the work of their organizations would fulfill the needs of the people they touch and would also point them directly to Jesus Christ as the source of their strength. -Pray for persons who are in the midst of vocational changes or are looking for gainful employment. Pray for God’s hand of guidance and sustenance to be upon them as they seek employment that meets their needs. Calendar Announcements This is the final week to update information for our church directory. Please send any changes into the church office. Men’s Breakfast and Bible Study will meet this Saturday at 7 a.m. Please sign-up in the foyer today. The Leadership Team has called upon Gerald Leatherman to serve as Elder Chair for the coming year. This needs to be affirmed by a vote of the congregation. This vote will take place today. Next Sunday, we will have a fellowship meal after Sunday School. Please bring a main dish and a salad or dessert to share. School kits are MCC’s most requested item. We have collected 73 kits already. TODAY will be the last day to bring items! Our church is planning a service trip to Detroit the week of November 6th. If you would like to reserve your spot, please sign-up in the foyer. If you have questions, see Harold Mellott. Also, if you are interested in sending funds to MDS for the rebuilding project in Detroit, please mark your offering envelope for MDS-Detroit. Seniors, remember to sign-up for the fall senior bus trip on Monday, October 3rd. A sign-up sheet is at the mailbox rack. WOMEN, you are invited to a retreat Friday-Sunday, November 11-13 in the Lancaster area. We will be watching the Faithful, Abundant, True DVDs by Priscilla Shirer, Beth Moore, and Kay Arthur.
