As Spring erupts all around us, we proclaim the glory of Jesus’ Resurrection. This is a season of tremendous hope for it is a sign of God’s ultimate victory of all that is evil. As we each struggle with our own crosses, let us remember that God has the final victory. Alleluia!! We welcomed into the church 14 new members on Holy Saturday Vigil Mass, plus another 28 young people at a special Mass on Saturday, April 2! God has blessed our community through these individuals who have stepped forward to say, “I believe…” They are a true witness for me, and I hope for you also. As you probably noticed, the three crosses which contained our Corporal Works of Mercy commitments were taken down. All the white papers were burned in the container which would hold the Easter fire (It is from this fire that we light the new Easter Candle). In a sense, our acts of mercy have helped to bring the Light of Christ into the world. Let us continue to offer acts of mercy throughout this year, helping Christ’s Light to burn brighter. This week is Spring Break for our school kids and teachers. May they have an enjoyable break and return renewed for the final seven weeks of school.
