Community Cornerstone
Group Leader, Val Anaka
Winnipeg, MB
When Group Leader Val Anaka’s
grandson was born, she had
retired from working and had
lots of time to spend with him.
“When he started school, I found
myself at loose ends! I needed a
social outlet,” says Val, who lives
in Winnipeg. At her daughter’s
suggestion, Val got Senior Unit
Leader Jennifer Downey’s phone
number from an Epicure jar in
her cupboard and signed up.
She’s made more friends and
acquaintances than she ever
expected.
“Before, I was a stranger in the
crowd. Now when I go out, I always
run into someone who recognizes
me. So I plan to keep doing this,
as long as I’m having fun and can
still carry my bags to the Tasting
Parties.”
The Juggler
Fast Track, Lynne Jenkerson
Navan, ON
Recently, Team Leader Lynne
Jenkerson shared the Epicure
Business Opportunity with a
group of women, and one of them
signed up after Lynne assured her
that she was able to run an
Epicure business in addition
to a traditional full-time job.
Lynne says, “I’m able to manage
both because Epicure just makes

Setting the Pace
Senior Consultant, Brenna Cull
Creston, BC
No one knows better than Senior
Consultant Brenna Cull that life can
get really busy, and it’s tempting to
try to do it all. Brenna says that her
Epicure business has given her the
ability to pace herself, set priorities
and keep from burning out. “Being
able to help my mom when
she had hip surgery – Epicure
made that possible. I know
now that if I need to slow down
and focus on something else, I can
do that. And when I’m ready the
following month, or whenever, I
really can get back into my business
with gusto.”

Fantastic Fundraiser
Consultant, Ashley Affleck-Yorsotn
Charlottetown, PEI
Even though she just joined Epicure
in April of 2011, Consultant Ashley
Affleck-Yorsotn recently held a
school fundraiser that generated
$9,540 – an Epicure record! She says,
“I cannot wait to share the success
of this with other local schools and
committees, and to share all the
benefits that Epicure offers. Don’t be
afraid to get out there and share –
Epicure sells itself! And the resources
are amazing, from Epicure's
website and Facebook page,
to your local and distant team
members. You couldn’t ask for
a better social network.”

Edmonton, AB
“Conference is so energizing – it
makes me feel like I’m on top of
the world, like my business is really

Alberta-based Team Leader Debbie
Greenwood. She’ll be at National
Conference 2012 to find out
what’s next on her unique Epicure
journey. “It’s easy to get caught up
in what others are doing and how
fast they’re going. But I think it’s
really important to work your own
plan and remember that your
journey isn’t supposed to look
like everyone else’s.
Sometimes you get sidetracked or
thrown for a loop, but that’s okay.
Just keep working your own plan.”

Unit Leader, Lisa Foye
Pointe-Claire, QC
Unit Leader Lisa Foye wouldn't miss
staying home in Pointe-Claire,
Quebec with her three children
for anything in the world. Since
she joined Epicure in November of
2007, she has come to rely on the
advice given to her by Executive
Sales Director Dana Nicholson. “She
told me, 'Just keep plucking along
and you'll get there.' I still say that
to myself!” What does she love most
about Epicure? “I can provide healthy
meals to families in our community,
change lives through our business
opportunity, and help raise funds for
local charities.”
The Volunteer
Unit Leader, Julie Laurin
Midland, ON
When she opened her Business
Success Kit six years ago, Unit Leader
Julie Laurin of Midland, Ontario
could never have imagined how
many people would eventually
benefit from her Epicure business.
At first, Epicure was the solution
to her daughter's severe food
allergies. “Epicure products allowed
us to prepare an amazing variety
of safe meal options. There are few
greater gifts for parents than to be
able to feed their children.”
