Equitation Over Fences Open to all Short/Medium/Long Stirrup and Pony riders and any rider not showing over 2'6" at this show. (Exception Large Ponies) Juniors and Amateurs only. Same Horse/Rider to be used throughout. 4 phase competition, scores from all four phases will be added together to determine the winners. Any ties for first place will work off. All scores will be posted at completion of the competition. Phase 1: Written Test. Pick up in the horse show office, return to office by Noon on Saturday. Phase 2: On the flat as a group; Phase 3: 1'3 Gymnastics; Phase 4: Over Fences 2'3 Awards Champion: $1,000 Shopping Spree at the Tack Wearhouse Reserve Champion: $500 Shopping Spree to Golden State Tack Special prizes and awards to 10th place. Horses/ponies must have been entered and shown in two other classes at the Beach Party of 2016. A computer drawn order will be used for the first round. All entries will show in the first round - top 12 will return for the handy. Riders in the flamingo Eq must wear something with a flamingo on it. Rider in the palm tree Eq must wear something with a palm tree on it. Failure to do so will result in no score, no exceptions. Overall awards to 8th place with a special award to the rider wearing the best flamingo or palm tree. All scores will be posted at completion of the competition Entry fee $50. Scores from all three phases added together to determine placings, Riders must wear something with a palm tree on it or score a 'zero' for that phase. Prize money divided as follows: 30%, 22%, 15%, 10%, 7%, 6%, 5%, 5%. Additional: Riders/Trainers must have a maximum of two Jr/Am instructors/Coaches who will win $500 if the student (the entered trainer) is the champion. Entry Fee: $200 210. Flat 211. Ties not involving 1st place will be broken by the fastest time in the first round. Jumping orders will be drawn and posted in accordance with USEF rules. Jumper ring is 200’ x 400’ sand footing. Argentine Jumpers: Speed portion of course wheeled at 382 yds/min to establish optimum time. Winning entry is the round with the least amount of faults, closest to the optimum time either over or under that time. Time faults are not assessed. For purpose of clarification, each jumper division has been assigned a specific height level. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver’s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for the child committing the offense. Rules & General Information Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 SHOW PASS FEE registration fee. Pay a $5 post entry fee for each class added or changed CONDITION OF ENTRY: Every horse entered in competition will be under control of the Horse Show Management, but Management will, in no case, be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur, and it shall be the condition of the entry that each exhibitor shall hold the Horse Show, its directors and employees, and the Brookside Equestrian Park harmless for any loss or accident to his/her horse(s) or equipment which may occur from sickness, fire or otherwise. All owners and exhibitors will be held accountable for any damage incurred by them, their agents, or employees, to the stalls, buildings, and other properties on the show grounds and shall be billed accordingly. MINOR EXHIBITORS: Parent(s) or guardian(s) of minor exhibitors shall hold the Horse Show Management and facility harmless for any injury to such minor. No child’s entry will be accepted or number issued unless the entry is signed by a parent or guardian. REFUNDS: Before the closing date of entries, full refunds will be given. After the closing date, with veterinarian or doctors certificate, refunds will be given less a $50 office charge, and less fees held prior to notification at the Horse Show Office, whether exhibited in or not. Stall fees may be refunded if canceled by May 23, 2016. PRIZES: Awards to 1st place in all classes, ribbons 1st-8th. Prize money will be made payable to the owner listed on the entry blank (unless other arrangements are made with the Horse Show Office) and mailed within 30 days. NO PRIZE MONEY WILL BE PAID UNLESS OWNERS SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER IS LISTED ON THE ENTRY BLANK. In all classes with add-back, prize money is computed from the number of horses that actually show. Horses entered but not showing will forfeit their add-back money to Management unless they scratch before the class. All money classes under $500 will be divided 30%, 25%, 20%, 15%, 10%. All $500 prize money classes will be paid: $150, $100, $75, $65, $60, $50. All $1,000 and over prize money classes will be paid: 30%, 22%, 15%, 10%, 7%, 6%, 5%, 5%. Checks void after 90 days. MANAGEMENT: The Horse Show Management reserves the right to interpret all questions & conditions in regard to or arising out of or incident to the show without claims for damages or recourse of any kind. All questions not covered in these rules and regulations shall be decided by Horse Show Management, their decision to be final. The Horse Show Management reserves to itself the right to refuse, accept conditionally, or to cancel any entries, disqualify riders or exhibitors, prohibit exhibition of entries and cancel award prizes, without claim for damages; to cancel or combine any unfilled classes; to change rings or rotate judges; to change specifications in jumper classes in order to facilitate the time schedule. Management reserves the right to limit entries at its discretion.
