ZEISS IKON ciuneras are famous the world over, driefly for their outstanding lenses. The
NOVAR with an aperture of f16.3, f/4.5 or f/3.5 produces ecxellent black-and-whiteand colour
pictures. The ZEISS TESSAR is often describedas the "eagle eye" of any camera; its needle
sharp deftnition has been proverbial for half a century. All lensesare coated and colour corrected.
The choice of the shutter dependsvery much on the type of subject you wish to take. A sports
shot, for example, will require 4 faster speed than a lindscape. The foilowing shutters are iuilt
into ZEISS IKON cameras:

BOX TENCOR
\TiththeBOX TENGOR you'll start taking good pictures
straight away. It is so simple to use that you couldn't go
\ryrong,
The BOX TENGOR is the ideal camera for a beginner.
Even a drild can use it. Its indestructible light-metal body
will stand more than an occasionai knod<.
Important BOX TENGOR features for the beginner are
the double exposure lock, the safety catdl against accidental release and the warning signal to prevent unexposed shots. However careless you may be, you just
couldn't take that lovely view in front if you mixed up
with the trellis fence of the previous shot.
The BOX TENGOR has a colour-corrected and coated Frontar
f/9 lens. This is fast enough for colour photography if the light
is good. Everything more than 9 yards away will be sharp. But
if you lvant to take groups from 2rlt to 9 yards, or portraits
from I to 2 yards, a lever brings built-in close-up lenses into
use. A second lever operates the lens stops.
The shutter permits instantaneous and time exposures. It has
flash contacts built-in. Thus even flash shots are easy with the
BOX TENGOR.
A cable release sod<et, upright and horizontal ffnders, a tripod
bush and, if desired, a yellow push-on filter complete the equipment of this popular and efftcient camera, whictr with its low
pnce is within everybody's readr.

The SIGNAL NETTAR has been designedfor those
who want a really foolproof camera. It has a doubleexposurelo& and a transportsignalwhidr warnsyorr
while the ftlm is still un-exposed.
Different NETTAR and SICNAL NETTAR models
are availablefor 2Llrx2rlqin. or 2rlax31/ain. pictures. If you are after a camerain this price range,
you are sure to ftnd a NETTAR to suit you.
NETTAR
The NEfiAR is the ideal camerafor week-endtrips and holiorcoatpodcet
days.It foldsup and is easilycarriedin a rud<sad<
whilst hiking, climbing or ski-ing.The lensand shutterare protected all the time. You just pressa button and the camerais
ready to shoot.Sight the subjectthrough the large bright optical
ftnder, pressthe convenientbody-release,and a live picture is
captured for ever.
The NETTAR is so popular becauseof its tedrnical features.
The efftcient NOVAR lensesare equally good for blad<-andwhite and colour. A depth-of-fteld indicator, flash contacts
(speedsyndrronisedon someof the models),a tripod bush,an
accessoryshoe and a cable releasesod<etfurther extend the
scope. The metal parts of the smartbody are drromiumplated.
Like all ZEISS IKON camerasthe NETTAR has convenient
red-dot settings. If distanceand apertureare set to the red dots
then everything over 12ft away will be sharp. This allows sufficient depth for any unexpectedsubject that may come your
way. You can also closethe NETTAR in this positionand you
thus havean ideal snapshotcamera.

Even a ZE I S S lens cannot produce a sharp picture if it's not
focused right. You steer clear of that problem with the
IKONTA M whidr has a built-in rangeftnder. The distance
is guickly measured by turning a handy knob. You can make
the most of your lens speed, there is no need"to stop down
for safety. The subject stands out clearly against the blurred
badcground so that the pictures really gain in depth. The
rangeftnder and viewftnder have separate eyepieces to make
the image in the rangeftnder as large as possible. This makes
for greater accuracy in measuring.
The IKONTA M is specially suitable for colour photography. Despite the larger aperture needed for the slow
colour ftlm, you always get pin-sharp pictures. The rangeftnder looks after your focusing problems, while the colour
corrected lenses ensure correct colour rendering..A ftlm indicator shows the negative material loaded in the camera.
If you are after the higher lens quality you can also get the
IKONTA M with the world famous ZEISS TESSAR. Apart
from that the tedrnical equipment of the IKONTA M is sirnilar to that of the SIGNAL NETTAR: it has an optical ftnder,
spring opening medranism, double-exposure lod<, body release, red-dot setting, depth-of-fteld scale, tripod bush and
cable release sodcet. The shutters are speed synchronised.
All Prontor-SV models and all 2rlex 31/ein. (6x 9 cm.)
cameras are equipped with a delayed action release.

Theseroll-ftlm camerasare in a classof their own. They have
tedrnical features whidr are usually found only on precision
miniature cameras. The latest and ftnest in this range is the
SUPERIKONTA III. It has a coupled rangeffnder. You just
rotate a ring to make the rangeffnderimagesto coincide; this
automaticallyfocusesthe lens. The SUPER IKONTA was
designedto be instantly ready for action. The rangeftnderand
viewftnderare thereforecombinedin one eyepiece.Obviously
the camerahas a self-erectingbaseboard,red-dot zone focus
settings, etc. The fflm transport is noteworth/: 1lou just turn
the fflm winding knob as far as it will go. The ftlm for the next
exposureis then automaticallyin position. This works even
for the first exposureso that the red window is unnecessary.
In its placethe camerais fftted with an automaticcounter and
an indicator showing whether the camera has been loaded
or not.
If you wantlargeaperturelenses,dloosethe SUPERIKONTA I.
This is similar to the SUPER IKONTA III but is fttted with
the exceptionallyfast ZEISSTESSARf/2.8lens.
The SUPER IKONTA II is the crowning adrievementof all

A man of action will always droose the CONTINA. This handy
miniature camera can be carried everywhere. The negative material is so dreap that you can afford to take several shots of any
subject. The short focal length of the wide-aperture lensesprovides
great depth of fteld. \'fith the red-dot zone setting, for example,
everything over 8 feet from the camera will be sharp.

CONTINA
All settings on the CONTINA can be read from'above, including
the depth of fteld scale. The camera has an automatic ftlm transport, double exposure lock, frame counter, ftlm indicator, in short
all the features you would look for in a modern miniature camera.
The ingenious winding lever on the bottom m4kes for rapid ftlm
transport. The CONTINA II also has a rangeftnder. This shows
exactly how far the subject is from the camera and ensures accurate focusing even at the' full aperture of the N O VA R or

great depth of fteld. For example, when set to 3 feet and aperture f 18,everything rvill be sharp from 20 in. to inftnity.
Becauseof its horizontal shape the MOVIKON 8 is easy to
hold really steady in both hands, just like the CONTAX. The
index ffnger conveniently operates the handy release. The
large and bright optical ftnder clearly shows the correct fteld
of view. For close-up shots-the lens can be foctrsed down to

Further advantagesof this handy narrow-gauge cine camera

Large views of distant subjects are impossible if you
cannot get sufftciently close.\x/ith the MovlKoN
g
however you simply screw the MoVITELAR attadrment on to the standard lens and you see the subject as if through a telescope. The effective
focal
length is doubled (20 mm.) but the aperture still remains at f/ 1.9. The accessoryftnder shorvsthe correct field of view and a special lens hood cuts out
srray light.
A lens attadrment is also available for wide-angle
shots. This is the MovIGoNAR
and is supplied in
a casecomplete with ftnder and lens hood. It reduces
the effective focal length to 5 mm. keeping the aperture constant.
Films must of course be titled. The MOVITRIX
multipurpose titler is a really versatile piece of
equipment for this purpose. Running titles, drum
titles or flap-overs are as simple to make as titles in
front of a moving badqround. The cone acts as a
special lerrs hood and can also be trsed as a matte
box for normal ftlming.
Artiftcial light shots are best taken with the
MOVILUM lighting unit.
It is ftrmly attadred to the MovIKoN

equipped with four or six reflectors to light up large
rooms. It can also be attached to the: MovlrRIX

illuminate titles evenly.
The fflm becomes suitable for projection only if the
individual scenesare spliced together in the correct
order. The Movlscop
