Hello everyone,
I hope everyone is having a great
Autumn season. As we go into a November
Have you ever wondered what it
would sound like to hear God sing?
We usually think about us singing to
God, but what about God singing
over us. Would He be a bass or a
tenor (might be odd to think Him as
an alto or soprano)? Perhaps all of
the above. Whatever He sounds like
it is perfect because it flows from a
perfectly righteous heart—out of the
mouth the heart speaks (and sings).
When we gather on Sundays to worship through singing, the type of
voice you have doesn’t matter to
God. What matters is the heart? As
Christians we are covered in the
righteousness of Jesus; therefore, we
sing from a position of forgiveness
and righteousness. God enjoys that
immensely. Therefore, don’t be
afraid to belt it out as you sing. Lift
up your voice. Raise the roof.
God’s grace is Amazing and it gives
plenty of room to respond accordingly. I look forward to seeing you
(and hearing you) this Sunday.
If you hear a song on the radio, or
know a song, that you would like us
to try and include during our worship
gatherings, please let me know and
we will try our best to incorporate it
as the lyrics align with the topic of
Pastor Brian’s teaching.
there are some things to know about. One,

PRESCHOOL/CHILDREN
Ministry ninaJOHNSON
Over the last couple of weeks our
Sunday school classes have been teaching
the children what the Gospel is and how to
share the Gospel. We have been breaking
down each section of the Gospel (heaven,
sin, God, Christ, faith, and response) so that
the children can begin to understand each
component. As they begin to understand
each component they have a greater understanding for themselves that they can easily
share with their family and friends.
A few weeks ago during one of our lessons we had an application game. The children were to find random objects throughout the classroom and then use them to
share the Gospel. As an example, we used
our hand sanitizer. Much like hand sanitizer
can clean your hands and get rid of germs,
so too can Jesus make us clean and free us
from our sins. Another example comes from
me being a former preschool teacher. Every
year I would share the pumpkin gospel with
my children. As we cleaned out and carved
our pumpkins we would talk about how
Jesus can clean us out. We are full of yucky
sin much like a pumpkin is full of slimy
pulp.
As we approach the holidays this simple
game has me thinking, how can we better
share the love of Christ with our family,
friends, and neighbors? What everyday
objects do we come across that can be used
as a bridge to the Gospel? As we prepare
for Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas,
how can we better share the Gospel this
holiday season?
I don’t know about you, but this holiday
season I want to make sure I am living out
James 1:22. I want to be a doer of the word,
not just a hearer.

Homecoming 2015 was a great success.. I like to thank
our Homecoming Team for all their hard work putting
together a great weekend. Everyone who came was so
encouraged to hear all the ministry that FHBC is engaged
in and the impact we are making both locally and around the world.
We now turn our attention to the Winter months. These next few months are filled with
many ministry opportunities. The Cold Weather Shelter season kicks off the last Sunday of
November, Operation Christmas Child wraps up, Great Clothes Giveaway is in 5 weeks and
many more Christmas related opportunities. Let’s remember that each of these opportunities
are chances for us to share the gospel. Let’s be sure not only to serve well but also to share
well. If you need ideas on how to serve your community over the next couple of
months or assistance in how you can better share your faith, don’t hesitate to contact
me and I’ll be happy to equip you.
Thanks for being such an awesome church.
