GREAT EDUCATION.
WHAT IS THE “TWIST” IN AUCTION WITH A TWIST?
Twist Items Are Gifts That Keep Giving!
Our 16 Twist Tables are filled with items that give you a chance to help Catholic Central meet real needs with gifts that keep giving. For
example, at a Twist Table you could supply materials, equipment or special programming not covered by the cost of tuition to enrich the
education of Catholic Central students. With the wide array of Twist Table sponsorships available, you are free to put your donation where
your heart is. The recorder at the table will walk you through the easy process of making a donation.
Twist Items Increases Your Donation!
For every dollar you give at a Twist Table, even more money is donated to Catholic Central through a $13,500 match. This $12,000 match was
made possible thanks to the generosity of Catholic Central individual and corporate supporters who pooled their money together to form this
matching grant. The goal is to collectively sponsor ALL of the Twist Items the night of the event so Catholic Central can receive ALL of the grant
money available.
Twist Items Are 100% Tax Deductible!
There are no minimum bids at a Twist Table and whatever amount you choose give is 100% tax deductible. Remember, every dollar donated
gets us closer to exhausting the dollar-for-dollar match money available for Catholic Central!
TWIST TABLE RAFFLE
Visit all 16 Twist Tables to receive a punch on your Twist Ticket (found on the back of this program). There is no gift requirement to receive
a punch. Guests with their Twist Ticket completely filled with punches are eligible to enter the Twist Table raffle drawing to win a $500
Meijer Gift Card. Guests can show their completed punches to the Twist Table volunteers located at the table next to the gong to receive their
complimentary raffle ticket for the drawing during dinner!
BANG-A-GONG!
It is rare to find an occasion worthy of gong banging – this happens to be one of them! Any guest who fulfills the final sponsorship at a Twist
Table gets to celebrate that need being met by banging the gong, and a whole lot of whooping and hollering!
Twist Table Team Captains
The two Twist Table team captains, Kris DeYoung, Student Activities Director and Teacher and Todd
Kolster, Head Football Coach and Director of Facilities, will lead their teams in this battle to the finish
line. Whichever team closes their Twist Tables first, wins tonight’s Auction pennant and bragging rights
for the next two years. This is certain to be a very good competition - and will move at a quick pace.
Be sure to keep up!

MESSAGE FROM THE BISHOP
Dear Friends of Catholic Central High School,
Thank you for your support of Catholic Central High School through your participation in this biennial auction.
The funds you will so generosity donate will assist students from Catholic families to be well-prepared for the
next stage of their lives, and even more importantly, to grow as Catholic Christians to long for the promises of
a life that will have no end. To be prepared to do what God wants and to do it well gives life meaning and joy.
Thank you for your assistance in this important goal of Catholic education!

How do you thank someone for tirelessly sharing their wisdom and experience with you to make your school the best it can be? Christina Rosloniec
continues to be the leader of all Twist model auctions. She has truly perfected this model and shares it so non-profit organizations can raise the
maximum amount of dollars possible. We are lucky enough to have her not only as our mentor, but also a current parent (Anna, ’18), a supporter,
a volunteer, and a leader. Christina, our success tonight is directly due to you and your efforts. We are beyond grateful for your friendship, your
wisdom, your talents and your willingness to share them unconditionally with us. Thank you for blessing Catholic Central!

WHO IS THE
BENEFICIARY
OF YOUR
ESTATE?
Too often, people forget to name beneficiaries for all sorts of
assets—and those monies can default to the state or federal
government if an individual dies without proper estate planning.
Take steps now to ensure that your assets support those
organizations and individuals that have made an impact on your
life, such as Catholic Central and West Catholic high schools.
The Foundation for Catholic Secondary Education is responsibly
invested in supporting both schools with scholarships to
deserving students and we would gratefully work with your estate
planner now to make sure a plan is in place.
You can even donate assets now, such as stocks that have increased
in value but pay no, or low, dividends. These type of gift can:
•Immediately benefit your tax deductions
• Avoid capital gains tax
•Be structured to provide an income stream

GREAT EDUCATION.
In the midst of pain, we have to give hope, out of every tragedy…
we have to find victory, instead of becoming bitter we must become better.
This is OUR hope, this is OUR victory, this is how WE become better …
This is OUR mission…
Saving lives, restoring hope, changing minds, working together to help educate, raise
awareness and end the stigma associated with mental illness. We will do this because
we all matter and we are all loved. We will do this for our son, brother, cousin, grandson,
nephew and friend. We will do this because this is our mission, Matt’s Mission.

THE LIVE AUCTION
Our Auctioneer this evening is Professional
Licensed Auctioneer, Jason Lamoreaux.
Born and raised in West Michigan, Jason
grew up surrounded by the sights and
sounds of his family’s auction business.
At 15, he called his first benefit auction
and attended the Missouri Auction
School. After graduating from Grand
Rapids Catholic Central in 1991, Jason
received both a BA and MA in Business
Administration. Jason has conducted hundreds of auctions in over 25
states across the country and charity and benefit auctions are his focus.
He is a member of the National Auctioneers Association as well as
the Michigan State Auctioneers Association. During his leisure time,
Jason enjoys spending time with his wife, Maura, and daughter, Shea.
We are thrilled to have Jason with us tonight!
How to Bid On Items
•You must have a bid number (received at check-in) to bid on
auction items.
•The auctioneer will describe each item and open bidding with a
suggested dollar amount.
•To bid, simply hold your bid number up high so that our spotters
can see it.
•The auctioneer will acknowledge your bid by calling out the
amount you are bidding.
•The auctioneer will determine the highest acceptable bid and call
the winner.
•Winning bidders will be asked by the spotters to sign an auction
receipt, at which time they should verify that the bid number, bid
amount and item description are correct.
By bidding, you are stating that you are ready and willing to purchase an
item for your bid amount. The winning bid is final and non-retractable.
Three Unique Auction Formats
During the auction we will be offering three different ways to bid
and donate — participate in all three!
1. Traditional Live Auction: Will be conducted as described above.
2.Blitz: The blitz is the same format as a traditional auction item,
but much faster! Remember to put your paddles up EARLY
and OFTEN to support an exciting blitz auction.
3.Fund-A-Future: In the middle of our live auction, we will
feature a special fund-a-need format to benefit the Cougar
Annual Fund that aids families in need of tuition assistance
in the form of scholarships. The auctioneer will start out with
the donation level that equals the cost to send one child to
school at Catholic Central: $9,670. He will allow time for
everyone who is interested in donating at that level to raise
their paddle so their bid numbers can be recorded for that
amount. He will then move down to the next lower donation
level and will continue that process down to $25 dollars. This is
a great way to help provide a scholarship for a child—whether
you are donating $9,670 or $25 dollars.
Payment and Tax Information
If you pre-registered your credit card at The Express Checkout
table during registration, your payment is already in place so you
are free to leave the event whenever you are ready. If you did not
pre-register your credit card at Express Checkout, you may pay for
your item at the traditional Checkout table at the end of night with
cash, check, Visa or MasterCard. If your winning bid exceeds an
item’s retail value, the difference is a tax-deductible donation.
Your receipt serves as your documentation for the IRS. Amounts
paid for raffles do not qualify as deductible charitable contributions.
Sales tax is included in your bid amount on taxable items by state
law. Catholic Central must report winnings of items valued at $600
to the IRS on a W-2G Form. Winners will be asked to complete
a W-9 Form: Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and
Certification for Tory Smith, Business Office Admin. For all winners
of items valued $5,000 or more, Catholic Central must withhold
taxes from the winning proceeds, and send it into the IRS along with
a W-2G Form. Tory Smith will also need these winners to complete
a W-9 Form. All Items are sold “as is.” This applies to the value,
quality and condition of all auction items. All sales are final. No
exchanges or refunds on auction items are permitted. Some items
may have restrictions please check the item descriptions in this
program for details. In the case of a service proved by a third party,
it is the bidder’s responsibility to contact the provider to arrange
the date, time, and other details. Catholic Central asks that all
certificates (especially those for dinners and services provided by
CC Families) be redeemed within twelve months to allow these
donors to participate in next year’s auction.
