SIERRA HOOFPRINTS The Official Newsletter of the Sierra Mustang Club - April 2016 Founded 1981-Sacramento, CA Dedicated to the Restoration and Preservation of all Ford Mustangs Mustang of the Month Every Mustang has a story behind it. If you would like to see your car and its story on the front page of the newsletter, send a picture of your car and it’s story to the Editor at [email protected]. (Cars selected in order of submittal.) This month we feature a 1967 Mustang Fastback owned by Brian Barrington Brian and his son Brody are in the process of taking apart this 1967 Fastback and getting it cleaned up and road worthy. Brian says, “We plan to get the car back to original as best we can so that we can start enjoying it with the club. I had a 1967 mustang fastback in High School that I sold. I regretted it ever since.” The car’s original color was midnight blue with black interior. It has a 289 4V motor in it with a 4 speed transmission. Brian and Brody found the car in a Sacramento apartment complex and purchased it from a young man who got if from his father, who was the 2nd owner of the car. The son wasn’t really into cars so he sold it. Brian and Brody hope to have the car road worthy and lookin’ good in the next 12 months! 1 SIERRA HOOF PRINTS NEXT MEETING MONDAY APRIL 25, 2016 7:00PM DENNY’S, 1011 RILEY STREET, FOLSOM DENNY’S 2016 BOARD MEMBERS ELECTED OFFICERS PHONE President Dave Ramacciotti (530) 621-0434 Vice President Scott Tanis (916) 813-3360 Secretary Susan Cotton (916) 353-2744 Treasurer Bill Johnston (916) 213-7765 Membership Margaret Kane (530) 676-7641 APPOINTED OFFICERS Sgt. Calling all Mustang enthusiasts and their friends to join our upcoming cruise to Alaska. We’ll be sailing this Sept. 2-9 (over Labor Day Weekend). We will start the cruise and end in Seattle, traveling on the newly refurbished Explorer of the Seas. In addition to cruising through the Inside Passage and Tracy Arm Fjord, we will have stops in Juneau, Skagway and Victoria, British Columbia. In Juneau, fun excursions include a visit to Mendenhall Glacier or to a Salmon Bake. In Skagway, riding the historic train and visiting a dog musher's camp can be highlights. Victoria has Buchart Gardens, tea at the Empress Hotel, a wonderful waterfront area, and a hop on/hop off bus if you want to venture out on your own tour. Prices vary according to whether you're in an inside, oceanview or balcony cabin. If we have 8 cabins or more sailing with us, each cabin will also receive $100 of credit to use toward onboard purchases. The cruise line is starting to close out group space that hasn't been booked since the ship is filling. So, it's important to reserve cabins NOW!! The current special is “Pay for one person, Second person is ½ off”! Call our coordinating travel agent, Nancy Porter, at 530-391-5650 if you want to join us or want additional information. She can also be reached via email: [email protected]. Deposit is $250 per person, with final payment due June 5. We're looking forward to having you sail with us.
