Lakeland Car Show
March is in like a lamb and February went by real fast. Our club meeting was well attended and went very well. With the many car shows around I
hope that you got to go to some of them. I know I ran into some of you out
there. The weather in most cases was really good not too hot and not too cold,
just right for a car show. The two I was able to attend were the one at the
Moose on the 20th of the month. It was well attended with 9 club cars there.
We placed 2 trophy winners. With Bob Brown one of them. The second show I
was able to make was the Sun & Fun Mustang & Mustang show up at the Lakeland airport. It was also well attended With 6 cars attending, 3 of us took home
the gold from that show. There were over 179 cars with a very nice setting,
with lots to do. Well worth attending and will attend it again next year. It
should be even better.
We have now entered the month of March and there are many shows
coming our way. The first one up is the Mustang Show in Fort Myers at the
Edison/Ford Estates on March the 5th. I know that some of you have signed up
for it. It should be a very interesting show. On March the 19th we have a Mustang Show in Pinellas Park. It is always a good show, the 26th of March you
have the Peace River Auto Club car show at Gilchrist Park in Punta Gorda.
Then on April the 15 – 17th we have an MCA Car Show in St. Augustine Fl.
This one should be fun to go to and is a must if you like St. Augustine like me.
On another note Chuck Venit who is looking for a 99 to 04 Mustang in good
condition at a reasonable price so if any of you have or know of anyone selling
please contact Chuck at the email: [email protected] he is a former member
and a good friend. So as we go on thru the year if you have anything at all you
want to put in the News Letter please get it to Dom he will gladly put it in for
you. I am still working on a Cruise in to Ford’s Garage in Fort Myers for April
the 3rd. Our next meeting will be on March the 10th at 7 PM in the upper sales
room at Don Gasgarth's Charlotte County Ford. Hope to see all of you there.
So until then, now that the weather is good and the sun is hot, please put
on the sun screen as we don’t want you to be to burnt to enjoy your Ponys on a
sunny day. So be safe and take care, I hope to see you out there at car show
near you.

Meeting called to order by President Chuck White at 7:00 with 24 in attendance.
Wayne made a motion seconded by Al to accept the minutes as published.
The Treasurer reported an ending balance of $ 2,588.75.

We do have 10 members to maintain our MCA Membership.
But as a reminder there are some benefits to being a member.
We have hats, visors, flags and stickers to sell.
New Business
We went over flyers for coming events.
We will have a cruise to Fords Garage April 3.
We will look into some other places to hold our Christmas party December 4.
Al made a motion seconded by Wayne to adjourn at 8:05.
Peggy won the 50/50 and gave $ 10.00 to the club.

Whew, no car shows for almost a year for me then 2 car shows in almost 2
months. I must be doing something right. I attended the Moose car show on February 20th with Al Barrett, his lovely wife Cathy and my favorite brother In Law
Chuck (Skip) White.
What did he say Martha? Is Dominic trying to do the old flim flam and pull
the wool over the eyes of the Mustang Club members? Who is he trying to kid,
he only has one Brother In Law. How can he say Skip is his favorite if he doesn’t
have any others? I don’t know about him, sometimes he doesn’t make any sense.
Now where was I before I was so rudely interrupted? Oh yea, members at
the Moose car show. Ed & Marsha Walton were there also. If I missed anyone,
I’m sorry. We also met up with some past members, Bob & Debra Brown & Randy
& Elaine Light. Bob took a trophy.
On to the Mustangs & Mustangs show at the Lakeland Airport. Kathie & I
met up with my favorite Brother In Law and illustrious President, Chuck (Skip)
White. We also met up with a bunch of Mustangers from The Great American
Pony Drive. Both Skip & I took a trophy in our class. There were many nice Mustangs to choose from, I feel good to have been recognized in a field of sweet
cars. This is our first trophy with our 2013 Pony Edition Mustang. Check out the
pictures of both shows later in this newsletter.
On another note, if anyone wants to be a contributing columnist just let me
know. I am sure I can find a page for you to express your opinion.
Kathie & I will not be able to attend the show at the Edison/Ford Estate,
the Mustang Show in Pinellas Park, the Peace River Auto Club car show at Gilchrist Park in Punta Gorda or the MCA show in St Augustine. Bummer….
So let me splain. No, there is too much, let me sum up. 12 months no shows,
2 months 2 shows, favorite Brother In Law, 2013 Pony Edition trophy, Edison/
Ford Pinellas Peace River Gilchrist MCA St Augustine shows. Whew that was a
mouthful.
Did I miss anything?
Oh yea, See you on 75, doing 75, in third gear.
