Spiritual Message
A reading from ………..A Grateful Heart
It is love that fashions us into the fullness of our
being—not our looks, not our work, not our wants,
not our achievements, not our parents, not our
status, not our dreams. These all are the fodder and
the filler, the navigating fuels of our lives; but it is
love: who we love, how we love, why we love, and
that we love which ultimately shapes us.
It is love, before all and after all, in the
beginning and in the end, that creates us.
Today, remembering this, let yourself
acknowledge and remember the
moments, events, and people who
bring you, even momentarily, into the true
experience of love, and allow the rest,
the inescapable mundane things of life,
like a cloud,
to very quietly drift away.

SAFETY ~ Fire Safety
If a fire broke out tonight while you were sleeping, would
you and your family get out alive?
You must develop a home fire escape plan now and practice it regularly. Make sure that every family member
knows two ways out of every room and establish a family
meeting place away from the house so that everyone can
be accounted for.
Call the fire department from a neighbor's home.
Remember, fire won't wait--so plan your escape.
ATTENDANCE~
Hope to see you in the Hat!
RECOGNITION ~
Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more.
If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have
enough.
How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and
she-roes!
~Maya Angelou

Eating Right for Older Adults
Eating right doesn’t have to be complicated. Before you eat
think about what goes on your plate. Choose foods that
provide the nutrients you need without too many calories. Build your healthy plate with foods like vegetables,
fruits, whole grains , low-fat dairy and lean protein foods.
Try these eating right tips:
 Make half your plate fruits and vegetables
 Make at least half your grains whole
 Switch to fat-free or low-fat milk, yogurt and cheese
 Vary your protein choices
 Cut back on sodium and empty calories from solid
fats and added sugars
 Enjoy your food but eat less
 Be physically active your way
