LOY KRATHONG
CELEBRATION
One of the most wonderful festivals in Thailand, Loy Krathong takes place on the night of the
full moon in the middle of November (12th month of the Thai lunar calendar) every year
This year, a special Loy Krathong festival will take place at the BISP Basketball Court
(next to the Refectory), Friday 7 November, 1.35pm – 2.35pm
The Thai Studies Department is also holding a ‘Nang
Noppamas’ contest: Nang Noppamas was the wife
of a revered Thai king, and creator of the ‘krathong’
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
• Female students from Year 7-13
WHAT ARE THE CATEGORIES?
• Year 7-9 (Junior Nang Noppamas)
• Year 10-13 (Senior Nang Noppamas)
WHERE TO SIGN UP?
• Year 7-9 : Drop in and sign up at any Thai
teachers’ classrooms (202, 203 and 214)
