Health Care 7/19/2010 : 2:10 PM 50 Years of Excellence 50 years ago the boys of Coyle High School came to the newly created Vianney High School. The rest, as they say, is History Current Vianney Principal Larry Keller presenting the picture of Vianney’s fi rst principal, Brother Ken Nesbit at the 50th Anniversary Mass. Bottom Heavy In the first year at Vianney there were 200 freshmen and only 26 seniors! Father Tim, along with many other Marianist Priests, leading the 50th Anniversary Mass. Freshman Chris Watkins at the speed pitch at May Fest. Everyone enjoying themselves at Vianney’s 50th Homecoming Dance. Games, food, rides, raffles, music and fun were enjoyed by all at May Fest. THEN 4 V 2010.ind 4 7/19/2010 : 2:27 PM ool The 50th Anniversary sand sculpture by alumnus Dan Belcher ‘86 and his original Vianney sand sculpture piece. Chicago Cubs fan and Vianney Principal Larry Keller in the dunking booth at Vianney’s May Fest. Alumnus Dan Belcher used 25 tons of sand to create the 10-foot tall sculpture featuring the Virgin Mary and the Vianney Griffin for the “Vianney 50” sand sculpture. Sam Radentz, Brian Bach, Dorian Rozanski, and Coby Capshaw singing with the Ursuline girls at the Ursuline Mass. Vianney brought back May Fest on May 22, 2010. The first May Fest was in 1963. The Chaminade Student Council presents Vianney with a 50th Anniversery Banner at the Chaminade Vianney basketball game. Play Synopsis The play is the story of the eccentric Brewster family of Brooklyn, N.Y. In addition to the scheming old women who poison their victims with elderberry wine, the family includes Teddy, who suffers delusions that he is Theodore Roosevelt and that the Panama Canal runs through the cellar of his home. The locks he digs become convenient graves for the lonely men who fall victims to Aunt Martha and Aunt Abby’s machinations. SHAPIRO V. BLACKSTONE INSURANCE GROUP The case was set in a small town in rural Missouri. Big Tony’s BBQ Restaurant, owned by Tony Shapiro, burned and was completely destroyed. Tony Shapiro claims that an intruder charged into the restaurant after hours and demanded money from the register. In the ensuing struggle, Tony claims that the restaurant burned down. Tony filed a claim with his insurance company, Blackstone Insurance Group, or B.I.G. B.I.G. denied the claim, stating essentially that it believes the fire was set by Tony.
