The catering Dept has made a surplus of Rs 38.51 lacs for the period Oct 08 to
Aug 09 as compared to Rs 28.40 lacs for the period Oct 07 to Aug 08. The increase
is 35.60% over last year.
The cost of food has been increased by approx. 6 to 10% only as against the
increase in the cost of raw materials which have gone up by about 38%.
The wastage and raw material consumption have been strictly monitored and
controlled and as a result, the same has come down by 49%.
The employee salaries have also gone up by Rs. 2.78 lacs for the period Oct 08
to Aug 09. an increase of 11.75%.
Despite the steep increase in the production cost, we have achieved a surplus of
35.60% and also crossed the Rupees one crore in the turnover of the club kitchen
alone. This does not include the Tandoor and Chinese Kitchens.
We place on record the remarkable and commendable work done by our kitchen
and catering staff without whom this feat would not have been possible. Last but
not the least, thanks to the support and encouragement given by the management
&sub-committee and the members of the club.
Various Club functions held are as detailed under;

A Dosa Mela was held and about 500 odd people were in attendance, where they

had the opportunity to feast their taste buds with about 25 varieties of Dosas
including Non. Vegetarian items. The Dosa Mela was well received and appreciated.
2. The Thai Food festival was conducted in a grand manner with the Chef and
ingredients flown down from Dubai. Inspite of the rain playing spoilsport and a few
other drawbacks, the Thai Food festival being a first of it’s kind in our club gave us
an insight and to learn from the experience and to overcome and improve upon
the shortcomings.
3. The Goan Food festival was held and was a complete success with about 650 odd
people attending the same. The Chefs and ingredients were brought from Goa
exclusively for the festival.
4. An Elai Sappadu was organized on the occasion of Tamil New Year and Ugadi. The
entire menu was prepared by our Club Kitchen for the first time.
5. Executive lunch has been introduced in our club which has been well received by
one an all.

300 tables amounting to 1200 persons, again a first in the history of the club.
