health food chef and nutrition expert Liora Bels shows us
in a modern and stylish way how the blender is a wonder

diet. This season, we are also proud to present Matcha, a
definitive cookbook about this of-the-moment ingredient.
We show you amazingly creative ways you can cook, bake,
and blend with the vibrant green superfood.
We also have some surefire gift ideas for the holidays in

the five-year anniversary of his cult-hit magazine, Hunger.

The teNeues Flagship Store
at La Hune in Paris
Art photography has been growing increasingly popular
for quite some time and now holds a permanent place
as one of the fine arts. Art collectors and connoisseurs
have discovered this market as well, and the best originals now fetch very high prices. This is understandable,
since it is difficult to resist the fascination of a moment
frozen in time.
High-quality photo books like those from teNeues,
which are produced with the greatest care and attention
to detail, aim to give a broader public access to these
fascinating works without skimping on quality.
As of November 2015, it is finally possible to experience
all of these facets of photographic art in one location:
our new flagship store in Paris, an address with a rich
and storied past, and a place with a special history now
writing its next chapter.
La Hune opened its doors in 1949 at the heart of postwar intellectual life, directly on the left bank of the Seine.
Even then, the fine arts were united behind its historic
walls, with literature in the bookshop and paintings in the
attached art gallery.
And now this tradition will live on. Renowned architectdesigners Vincent Eschalier and Gesa Hansen created
a modern identity for the former cultural hotspot while
respecting this legendary place in its original form.
The ground floor offers space for the teNeues bookstore,
with its exclusive range of photography titles and limitededition coffee table books. The Fine Art Gallery on the
second floor will display artist monographs by wellknown names in the international photography scene.
The grand opening exhibit was held on November 2,
2015 showcasing work by teNeues star photographer
Elliott Erwitt. Marc Lagrange and Sebastian Copeland
have also had their work on display here. A Jimmy
Nelson show in Summer 2016 will be another eagerly
anticipated highlight.
As it was before, La Hune is once again a place totally
dedicated to the fascination of photographs, a place
that invites artists, collectors, and bibliophiles to find
inspiration, to browse, collect, and talk. We look forward
to seeing you.
Director Bernard Gheerbrant—a great art collector and
lover of contemporary literature—originally displayed engravings, lithography, and paintings. The gallery was also
one of the first places in Paris to exhibit photographs.
La Hune quickly moved into the vanguard of the literary
and cultural scene and became the place for artists,
writers, and intellectuals to meet: everyone from Max Ernst
to Jean-Paul Sartre, from André Breton to Pablo Picasso.

THE MIX
LIORA BELS
Living a balanced way of life is about the combination of
eating whole, delicious foods that are nourishing and energizing, taking care of yourself and others, and about the
sustainable coexistence of people and nature. Conscious
living is holistic. Liora Bels’ philosophy as a specialist on
healthy eating and wholesome living revolves around the
positive effects nutrition can have on body and soul and
the benefits of a plant-based diet. The Mix offers vibrant,
simple, and healthy everyday meals, that are rich in
wholesome, natural, fresh ingredients and easy to make.
Eating well must not be stressful, but rather a celebration
of the goods nature has to offer. You will find scrumptious
smoothies, nutritious spreads and dips, tasty soups,
bowls, and even sweets and treats. Beautiful imagery
allows a glimpse into a holistic lifestyle and Liora’s inspiring sense for aesthetics. The Mix is a treat for eyes and
taste buds and not exclusively for the health-conscious
reader.
LIORA BELS is a Health Food Chef, Certified Nutrition
Expert, and a Food & Style Consultant. Bels’ philosophy
is rooted in a holistic approach and she strongly believes
that a conscious lifestyle and a healthy cuisine have a
great, positive impact on our overall wellbeing and a better future. During her time living abroad for many years
and her travels around the world, she gained valuable
insights and cultivated her long-sowed fascination with
nutrition and healthy food. In her recipes, she embraces
the different aromas, food traditions, and aesthetic presentation. Her love for natural food and cooking combined
with her deep interest in its beneficial effects and healing
aspects, as well as her hunger for knowledge, made her
follow this devoted career path.

INTERVIEW
So I came up with recipes that are easy and quick to
make–without having to sacrifice nutrients, taste, and
aesthetics.
WITH LIORA BELS
I love food and want to create a delicious, beautiful, vibrant, and healthy cuisine. The Mix offers flavorful, nutritious, and simple everyday plant-based recipes,
incorporating only high-quality minimally-processed
products, that I believe help optimize our health, energy,
and radiance.
I believe in the healing benefits of plant-based wholesome nutrition and am overwhelmed about how it connects with our bodies, the sustainable positive effect it
has on us, our overall well-being, and our future.
I am also fascinated by the emotional aspect of eating a
healthy cuisine. It not only nurtures, but takes one on a
journey, brings people together, or makes one fall in love.
The taste and scent of it creates memories and can bring
us back to our childhood, remind us of special moments.
Different spices may inspire one to take trips to faraway
places. The beauty about nutrition and of my cooking is
that it sparks emotions.
You are a certified Health Food Specialist, what exactly
does healthy eating and conscious living mean to you?
Incorporating more plants into your eating habits, taking
care of yourself, adopting a healthier, balanced routine,
celebrating natural food and integrating daily rituals can
help you achieve a sustainable change in your lifestyle
and how you feel.
It is a holistic, balanced approach to life that incorporates
nourishing food, sleeping well, managing stress, and
working out in the way that is right
for you. About paying attention to

How do you develop and perfect
your recipes?
Your perfect meal would include/consist of…
…fresh, wholesome ingredients: veggies, nuts & seeds,
fresh herbs, and always avocado.
The recipes are all mainly made in a high-speed-blender,
or food processor, or even just with your hands–quick
and easy. Perfect for everyday life. My mission is to inspire making the right food choices every day and to celebrate natural food. I hope the combination of taste,
aesthetics, and sharing knowledge about the benefits is
the key to finding love for natural food and to taking care
of oneself. This book is made for everyone!
How did the idea for The Mix develop and what can readers expect of The Mix?
When it comes to cooking or eating a more healthy plantbased diet I often hear the words: no time, no ideas, no
talent, don’t know how to cook, lack of inspiration.
Being a working mom, I know it can be a challenge to
find the time to cook an abundant healthy meal yet I want
to make feeding my children nourishing and thoughtfully-prepared food a priority. You don’t have to be a chef to
cook a delicious, wholesome meal and to take care of
yourself with quality organic products.

My personal food philosophy has a beginning and no

create a healthy, vibrant, and delicious cuisine.

VEGAN CUISINE
JEAN-CHRISTIAN JURY
The trend of cooking and eating without using animal
products has been around for many years and is gaining
in popularity. Vegan cuisine is healthy, versatile, and international. It can hold its own in terms of artistry, lacks
nothing found in traditional haute cuisine, and it is no
more complicated to cook. How this is possible, and how
amazing these dishes look on the plate, is the subject of
the unique Vegan Cuisine. You will find over 800 recipes,
collected and curated by top chef Jean-Christian Jury,
who was an extremely successful vegan chef for many
years, most recently at the Mano Verde in Berlin. The
book is a life’s work of recipes, an homage to green
cooking, and a must for anyone who loves to cook,
whether they are full-time or only part-time vegans.
Dishes range from classic appetizers, filling main dishes
sure to satisfy everyone, and sinfully delicious desserts
to vegan cheese, bread, soups, smoothies, and many
special dishes that will surprise even seasoned vegan
cooks. World-renowned food photographer Joerg Lehmann
provides the perfect stage for culinary star dishes like
Asian seaweed salad, vegan croissants, and the incredible Mano Verde Chocolate Tart. Vegan cuisine has never
been so beautiful and appealing.

MATCHA
THE COOKBOOK
GRETHA SCHOLTZ

The new trend is green: matcha is top-quality green tea
that is ground into a fine powder. Originally used in the
traditional Japanese tea ceremony, matcha is now inventively used in other dishes as well. And now we are going
to make this neon-green ingredient our very own: with its
tart-sweet taste, Matcha gives ice cream or smoothies its
own special kick. Other than the color, what is so special
about this powder? The entire tea leaf is ground to make
matcha powder, which means all of the beneficial ingredients in green tea—like anti-oxidants and phytochemicals—are preserved. It is a great reason to take a closer
look at this green trend!
GRETHA SCHOLTZ, recipe developer and matcha queen,
shows us what we can do with the green powder in
the kitchen. Enjoy truly healthy breakfasts, hearty main
dishes, and of course, a wide variety of sweets and baked
goods—which could even be considered healthy, thanks
to the matcha used to make them.

BOWL STORIES
VIOLA MOLZEN AND BENJAMIN DONATH
Benjamin Donath and Viola Molzen decided to call their
book Bowl Stories because eating out of bowls is not a
passing fad, but a declaration of love for the food itself.
The duo defines eating from a bowl, or even directly from
the pot, as the ultimate pleasure. Eating from bowls is
both practical and sensuous; all ingredients and components are nestled close to each other so it’s easy to have
a bit of everything on your spoon. Ben and Viola serve up
classic dishes with a fun twist: Asian carbonara with pork
belly, ayran Black Forest cake, and pea soup with nectarine yakitori or hay panna cotta. Marketing manager Viola,
who loves food above all else, and pastry chef Ben, author of the food blog EateryBerlin.com, find inspiration for
their recipes from childhood memories, leftovers in the
fridge, and of course, from their travels: to Turkey, Portugal, or a campground in Brandenburg.
• Bowl Stories features bowl-based meals you
can enjoy anywhere: on the couch, in bed,
sitting on the windowsill, or even at the table
• Classic dishes with fun twists—a culture clash
right in your bowl
• Easy but sophisticated recipes that will inspire

ALPINE CUISINE
... AND LOCAL LORE
ALPS MAGAZINE
So much more than mere “Schmankerlküche” (Bavarian
treats), the Alps are a little piece of paradise for foodies.
Wide variations in climate and huge elevation changes
have forced the locals to adapt and be inventive. Over the
centuries, each region has developed its own unique flavors and special products. Recently, the Alpine gastro
scene has led the way back to rediscovering regional
tastes, reviving everything that got lost in a sea of lemongrass and avocado foam, and returning to the real
delicacies from local farms and fields–while completely
re-interpreting tried-and-true dishes. This book invites
you on a stroll through the skillets and soup kettles of
contemporary Alpine cooking: visit the most beautiful
mountain cottages, the homiest kitchens, and the most
remote Alpine meadows–the whole delicious spectrum
of culinary delicacies from all over the Alps! We also include stories about special local ingredients and traditional recipes with a new contemporary twist. Because if
there is one thing you can count on in the Alps, it is that
every valley is unique!
ALPS is a magazine about the Alpine lifestyle—written by
Alps lovers for Alps lovers. The four main topics are
Alpine life, Alpine trails, Alpine views and, of course,

LIVING OFF THE LAND
IRELAND’S KITCHEN
In an age of highly processed foods and more and more
people with food allergies and intolerances, interest in
local and organic foods and healthy eating is skyrocketing. This is where Living Off the Land – Ireland’s Kitchen
comes in. The Connemara region of Ireland is one of
the country’s most picturesque areas. Oscar Wilde once
called it “a savage beauty.” With its rugged hills, postcardpretty heaths and moors, and rocky western coastline, it
offers a variety of impressive landscapes. Here, it is still
possible to live in harmony with nature and make use of
the natural resources and native crops the land provides.
This volume takes you to the Screebe House, a historic
manor in western Ireland famous for its hospitality, comfort, and outstanding cuisine, and shows how you can
use local products to create outstanding dishes with just
a bit of cooking skill. Along with classics like a full Irish
Breakfast and afternoon scones, you can cook mussels,
clams, cockles, scallops, rack of lamb, and learn all about
Irish cheeses. Breathtaking landscape photographs from
the region round out the book perfectly and sweep you
away on a dream trip to the west coast of Ireland.
• Culinary highlights in one of Ireland’s
oldest and most traditional regions
• Cook healthy, quality meals using
local products
• A treat for both the eyes and the stomach

HAMID SARDAR
DARK HEAVENS
SHAMANS & HUNTERS OF MONGOLIA
english/german edition
english/french edition
Across the vast, wind-swept plains of Mongolia, nomadic
tribes freely roam—only guided by the rhythmic changes
of the seasons. Beginning in 2000, Hamid Sardar immersed himself in this fascinating people’s way of life,
following them throughout their daily rituals, hunting expeditions, and spiritual practices to capture their centuries-old practices. With a breathtaking mix of color and
black-and-white images, Sardar’s debut book is a poignant
visual journey showcasing Mongolia’s last traveling shamans and hunters. Especially fascinated by their spiritual
relationship with land and animals, Sardar beautifully documents the wisdom, customs, and manners of an array of
individuals, from horse-breeders and eagle masters to
traditional healers. Accompanied by an informative text,
this title is a must-have for anyone interested in anthropology, photography, and adventure.
Born in Iran in 1966, HAMID SADAR is a scholar of Tibetan
and Mongol languages who received a Ph.D. from Harvard. Inspired by the pioneers of ethno-photography during the Age of Exploration, in 2000 he set out to live with
nomadic tribes in Mongolia and journeyed with them for
eight years. The subject of four award-winning documentary films, his photographs captured during that time
have been exhibited in galleries across the world.
• A stunning visual record of Mongolia’s
last nomadic tribes
• Documents the daily customs and manners
of Mongolia’s wandering hunters and shamans
• An ideal gift for those interested in photography

BERNHARD HARTMANN
HAVANA
Havana. Just saying the name evokes images of bright
Caribbean colors, American cars with fins from the 1950s,
and once-glorious buildings fallen into ruin. Now that this
socialist island country is open once more, this picture
will soon change. Now is the time to pause for a moment
and take a closer look at Cuba’s capital city. Bernhard
Hartmann starts on the streets, showing us cafes, shops,
and boxing clubs, but he also takes us behind the facades of the mansions, whose well-worn charms immediately captivate the viewer. Crumbling plaster, cracked
walls, worn stair treads—we see all of this in the pictures,
and yet these places are vibrant and alive. Traces of
bourgeois life, dignified and stylish, survive despite the
adversity, masterfully captured in brilliant photographs.
BERNHARD HARTMANN was born in 1955 in Frankfurt
am Main, Germany, and began working as a photographer for a major German newspaper at the age of 18.
While he was still in law school, he became a self-taught
landscape and architecture photographer. In addition to

VINCENT PETERS
PERSONAL
For more than 20 years, Vincent Peters has been among
the best photographers internationally. The artist, a native
of Bremen, Germany, lives in Paris and Ibiza and sees the
world as his playground. His unmistakable signature
style—sensitive, classic photos—is in equally high demand for celebrity, fashion, and advertising photography.
With minimal resources, he is able to create dramatic images that look like stills from an imaginary movie. Every
picture makes you wonder what will happen next. His first
photo book, The Light Between Us, was published in
2014 and showed his best shots of actors, models, and
musicians. Now he dedicates himself to his favorite subject in Personal: women. Once again, we encounter stars
as they have never been seen before; Penélope Cruz,
Linda Evangelista, and Irina Shayk are only some of the
prominent ladies featured. Vincent Peters hand-selected
the pictures for this book, most of which have never been
published before. Along with his portraits, there are also
nudes that highlight his masterful use of light to create
sensuous photographs. This enables him to create mysterious images that celebrate feminine beauty and draw
us inexorably under their spell.
• A new masterpiece from the internationally
celebrated photographer that devotes itself
exclusively to the fairer sex
• Peters’ pictures are as classic as they are
dramatic and are stunningly sensuous
• The premium presentation makes this volume
a collector’s piece

JEAN JULLIEN: MODERN LIFE
JEAN JULLIEN
WITH A FOREWORD BY JESSE EISENBERG
The modern world is at once exciting, complicated,
ridiculous, confusing, and tedious, but ever changing and
always fascinating. Based on his keen observations of
daily life from his unique perspective, French artist Jean
Jullien uncovers the humor and simple beauty that exists
in the people, places, and things that surround him.
Understanding that visual communication can often be the
most direct and immediately understood, Jullien cleverly
and candidly reveals in his artwork the hilarious realities
and universal truths of human behavior and modern life
that connect us all. Seamlessly transcending the boundaries of commercial art and graphic illustration, his bold and
playful drawing and painting style has attracted a diverse
range of clients and delighted everyday fans of his comic
and irreverent sensibility all over the world. In addition to
his successful body of work, his wonderfully creative daily
postings of his art on his very popular Instagram are his
musings of the moment—whether mini objets d’art, “found
art” enhanced by silly doodles, or sketchbook drawings.
teNeues is proud to present the first monograph of this
young and talented artist, Jean Jullien: Modern Life.
JEAN JULLIEN is a French graphic artist currently living in
London. Originally from Nantes, France, he graduated from
Central Saint Martins in 2008 and from the Royal College of
Art in 2010. His practice ranges from illustration to
photography, video, costumes, installations, books, posters,
and clothing to create a coherent, yet eclectic body of work.
As a personal response to the November 2015 attacks in
Paris, Jean Jullien created the ‘Peace for Paris’ drawing that
was widely shared and seen throughout the world. His simple,
stark image of the Eiffel Tower integrated into the Peace sign
has become a symbol for solace and solidarity.

FRANCK BOHBOT
LIGHT ON NEW YORK CITY
Franck Bohbot’s Light On New York City is a sentimental
and nocturnal exploration of “the city that never sleeps.” In
this photography project that began in 2013, New York City
is presented in a series of haunting and cinematic images
as seen in the nighttime façades and storefronts of buildings that boast neon marquees and signage,
eerily preserved in all of their nostalgic and kitschy glory, to
undeniably sleek and contemporary exteriors with more
daring architectural design. This aesthetic, along with the
predominant absence of people, results in a melancholic
atmosphere reminiscent of Edward Hopper paintings and
evocative of staged theatrical sets—a merging of a contemporary urban reality and a magical, sentimental artificiality. The photographs featured in Light On New York City
convey a luminescence that celebrates modernity while
longing for the past in an ironically ageless paradox.
Born in France in 1980, FRANCK BOHBOT is a Brooklynbased contemporary photographer known for his vivid
and surreal color photography. With a cinematic and
painterly approach to his work, he creates meticulouslycrafted pictures that capture an enigmatic atmosphere,
showing the mystery and dream-like quality of everyday places and everyday life. His unique style has won
him several awards and international acclaim in his young
career. Recent notable work includes an innovative swimwear collaboration with designer Paul Smith and a stunningly dramatic series of photographs of the Louvre
Museum in Paris.
• The archetypal New York City urban landscape
is glimpsed “after hours” in a series of timeless,
hyper-real photographs
• For fans of contemporary city photography, New
York City history, and admirers of magic realism

CASTELBAJAC
Whether it’s Beyoncé’s wild blue jacket, Rihanna in a
Donald Duck dress, or outfit queen Lady Gaga in a jacket
with sewn-on Kermit the Frog puppets, they have all worn
his creations and made them famous. Jean-Charles de
Castelbajac is a designer who knows how to dress women with courage and creativity. And for his somewhat unorthodox tastes, he has been nicknamed “King of the
Unconventional.” After developing a collection for his
mother’s fashion house in 1968, he started his own label
in 1978. Since then, he has launched countless successful collections and struck up partnerships with the most
unlikely people. Whether it’s robes for the Pope, costumes for the Woody Allen film Annie Hall, or clothes for
TV series such as Charlie’s Angels and Sex and the
City—for decades, de Castelbajac has been a style and
fashion pioneer. Even better, he has always managed to
fuse fashion with art, as evidenced by his partnerships
with Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Take a look
behind the scenes at this fashion legend and learn
about how this artist got his start and his ongoing history
of success.
JEAN-CHARLES DE CASTELBAJAC is an emblematic
artist known for his polymorphic work. Since the beginning, his passion for art and design coupled with an enthusiastic and tireless character has urged him to
collaborate with the best international industries and
artists. His playful œuvre and his approach to pop/rock
culture has been seen around the world appealing to
every generation in their own singular way.

ABOVE THE WORLD
EARTH THROUGH A DRONE’S EYE
Sometimes, all that is needed to change someone’s mind
is a change of perspective. Flying cameras, freed from
the constraints of gravity, redefine how we perceive the
world we live in and reveal previously unseen moments
of beauty. Very rarely does a new technology level a playing field in an art form, allowing unknown talents to share
headlines with established artists. Drones are one of
these great equalizers. With this book, we are shining a
spotlight on some of the world’s best aerial photography.
We examine not just the works of well-known aerial photographers, but also the many phenomenal images captured by non-professionals. The subjects of those
showcased range from a volcanic eruption to the abstract
patterns of fish farms as seen from above, and from never-before-seen views of Patagonia to powerful impressions of the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland. Above the World is
an ode to the beauty of the aerial image as it can be seen
and captured by anyone. Let yourself be inspired.
• Breathtaking images of our planet from
a drone’s eye view
• Be inspired by an all new photographic medium
• Featuring images by renowned photographers
like Michael Poliza, George Steinmetz, Cameron

others

the artists

TIM HALL
MOUNTAINS
BEYOND THE CLOUDS
Mountains, one of nature’s greatest masterpieces, in their
rugged beauty, breathtaking views from the top, clear air,
green pastures, mountain lakes and glaciers, have captivated mankind all along. Climbing mountains or just
gazing at their majestic splendor causes us to slow down
and contemplate, maybe even giving us a little serenity.
Photographer Tim Hall beautifully captures the powerful
solace of mountains in his images. He often chooses to
shoot in dramatic weather, making his work and the photographed mountains look even more stunning and transcendent. The intention to strike an emotional or spiritual
chord is evident in much of his landscape work, which is
inspired by Rothko and Turner. The influence of painting
in his work stems from his studies of Art History at Manchester University. Mountains – Beyond the Clouds presents the extensive Alpine mountain range, including
famous landmarks such as the Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn, and the Dolomites.
TIM HALL is a British Fine Art Photographer, who specializes in travel, landscape, and portraiture. His drive to see
the world through the lens of a camera was inspired by
the romance of 19 th-century travelers and more recently,
National Geographic photographers. The work is a lyrical
response to the people and places that he has visited
and shows his deep interest in the urban and natural
world as well as the people who inhabit them. With over
20 years experience as a project-based photographer,
his works are often conceived as a series, exhibited as a
collective body, or bought as single pieces. Tim lives in
London and is represented by contemporary art galleries
across Europe, South East Asia, and the USA.

BRUCE WEBER
ALL-AMERICAN VOLUME XVI
WILD BLUE YONDER
All are welcome—painters and mountaineers, mystics
and poets, ranchers and socialites, bombshells and philistines, soldiers and activists, upstarts and old-timers—
provided their stories lift the spirit, inspire the mind, or
provoke a new way of seeing the world. This engaging,
democratic impulse connects the All-American series of
art journals, curated for the past 15 years by the photographer and filmmaker Bruce Weber. This year, in his
16th issue, Weber continues his exploration of American
culture—the lofty and the everyday, the famous and the
obscure. As the title suggests, this year’s edition is devoted to adventurers, pioneers, and dreamers—those who
strike out for the unknown or work to build a brighter
world. Weber offers a portfolio from his recent road trip
through West Texas, informed by the romance of Sid
Avery’s photos on the set of Giant, Toni Frissell’s documentary work at the King Ranch, the films of Terrence
Malick and Wim Wenders, and the writings of Larry
McMurtry and Edna Ferber. The heavens above and
below are explored through the story of retired astronaut
Scott Kelly, the diving photography of Tim Calver, and the
work of the environmentally-minded artist Zaria Forman.
Weber also celebrates those committed to transforming
the forgotten quarters of their cities—from the radical
priest Fr. Mike Pfleger in Chicago to the activist artist
Mark Bradford in Los Angeles.
Photographer and filmmaker BRUCE WEBER first rose to
international prominence in the early eighties on the success of images that combined classical styling with more
visceral underpinnings of desire, mood, and sexuality. His
ability to construct a seamless sense of romance and
drama created the central public images for fashion
houses like Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Versace, and
Abercrombie & Fitch, as well as earning him an enduring
presence as a contributor to magazines at the very
highest levels in the industry. Throughout his career,
Weber continues to work in various forms–he has directed
seven short and feature length films, published more
than 38 books, and has held more than 62 exhibitions
world-wide–extending his lifelong exploration of the
nature of human relationships.

TONY STROMBERG
HORSES
Horses, just horses, sans riders, saddles and bridles—
unless they’re in a stall, it’s not something you see much
anymore. But this is precisely what Tony Stromberg,
equine photographer extraordinaire, gives us. He photographs these graceful animals in a pure and natural way
that no other photographer can match. And now, his most
beautiful shots are collected in one breathtaking photo
book: Horses. Whether they’re in stalls, in the paddock,
or in fields and woods—Stromberg employs a perfect balance between light and shadow, unique composition,
and a superlative feel for the right moment to make these
majestic animals come alive, creating an authentic homage to a glorious creature. However, his pictures go far
beyond merely depicting horses’ beauty. Stromberg,
a former advertising photographer, had his first encounters with horses in the 1990s at a time when he was
suffering from terrible burnout himself. But in these gentle companions, he found, in his words, teachers and
soulmates who helped him regain a sense of peace. The
deep connection to horses he has built since then is
clearly evident in his photos, which is what makes them
so special.
After building a successful career as an advertising photographer, TONY STROMBERG followed his inner desire
to find peace in nature and moved into fine art photography. More than 20 years ago, he decided to change his
focus to equine photography, and he has since built up a
substantial archive of fantastic shots. His studio is in
Santa Fe, New Mexico. In addition to the many photography workshops he and his team lead all over the world,
he enjoys spending time with horses in nature.

THE WATCH BOOK II
GISBERT BRUNNER
The world of watches is in transition; so-called smart watches are playing a larger role. However, classic timepieces with mechanical movement will not disappear
from people’s wrists, because the ticking of a mechanical
watch has been and will continue to be the heartbeat of
human culture. After the success of The Watch Book in
2015, the new follow-up volume, just as beautifully done,
is a must-have. Informative text and many pictures highlight 22 additional watch brands and show their unique
features and quirks. However, this book includes a much
broader spectrum of timepieces than the previous volume: along with many watches that fall into the “affordable luxury” segment, there are timepieces from the chronometric crème de la crème. Along with long-standing
traditional brands, the book profiles newer ones whose
unusual designs and exclusive technical developments
have contributed to the history of the watch. This volume
also includes a helpful glossary of important terms,
making The Watch Book II an absolute must for both
timepiece experts and collectors and those new to the
world of watch artistry.
• Renowned watch expert and historian

TONY KELLY
ENTERTAINING NUDES
Colorful, loud, a little shrill, but also with a little wink-wink
nudge-nudge—can you fit all of that into one picture? Yes,
if Tony Kelly is the one behind the camera! The Irish fashion and fine art photographer manages to imbue his pictures with that special something extra. Whether it is a
fashion shoot for Vanity Fair or erotic photos for Playboy,
Kelly creates images that are both sensuous and ironic,
and always entertaining. So it is no surprise that his photo
book is called Entertaining Nudes. This book showcases
his best work—beautiful women who slip into different
roles, sunbathe beside breathtaking pools or leap out of
cakes. Tony Kelly’s photographs bear witness to the fact
that he is truly a master of his craft. Even better, he has a
very special talent: he knows how to put a smile on
someone’s face with his pictures. Go ahead and see for
yourself!
Born in Dublin, TONY KELLY began his career as a photojournalist, covering conflict in Ruanda and Afghanistan,
before he devoted himself entirely to fashion photography.
His work has a storyteller’s style and appears in magazines such as Vanity Fair, Vogue, and GQ, as well as international campaigns for companies like Steve Madden,
Custo, or BMW. Tony’s Toys, Kelly’s first self-published
photo book, had a limited print run of only 1,000 copies
and was exclusinely available at Marc Jacobs’ Bookmarc.
• If you are a fan of extravagant
photography, this book is a must
• A masterpiece of sensuous
erotica—with a fun touch of irony
• Let yourself be entertained by Tony Kelly

HUNGER
THE BOOK
Hunger: The Book is a look back over the ten issues and
five years of Hunger Magazine, launched by photographer Rankin in 2011. The biannual magazine was born
from Rankin’s desire to celebrate the most creative and
provocative voices in culture and fashion. The book highlights the magazine’s finest moments, editorials and
celebrity portraits, as well as taking a behind-the-scenes
look that includes never-before-published images, film
stills, original sketches and tell-all anecdotes.
RANKIN was born in 1966 in the Scottish town of Paisley,

College in Luton, England, and the London College of

quarterly fashion magazine Rank followed in late 2000.
With Hunger and the accompanying HUNGERTV.com
website, he reached another milestone in the worlds of
fashion, photography, and beauty. Rankin also generated
a lot of buzz with his charity campaigns, his work on
Germany’s Next Top Model, his documentaries for the
BBC, and his attention-grabbing fashion photography.

a visually beautiful totem of fashion, design,
culture, music, film, and art
• Hunger’s finest editorials and celebrity portraits,

BLACK BEAUTIES
ICONIC CARS PHOTOGRAPHED BY RENÉ STAUD
René Staud is one of the best automotive photographers
in the industry, highly sought-after and extremely innovative. He has already published five successful automotive
photo books with teNeues, the most recent of which is
Mercedes-Benz – The Grand Cabrios & Coupés. And
now, René Staud is “back in black.” Like the opening riff
of the famous AC/DC song, Black Beauties is predestined
to delight little boys and big boys alike. In his consistently
compelling images, Staud shows us a series of historic
cars painted in the “color” of classical elegance and
sporty power: the legendary Alfa Romeo 8C of the 1930s,
the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, the fastest
open-topped production car ever made, and even the
“Goddess” Citroën DS. In addition to the gorgeous
photos, there are essays by renowned authors about
the significance and effect of the “color” black on automotive design. A wonderful photo volume that is anything
but colorless!
• Black is beautiful? Star photographer
René Staud provides the ultimate proof
• Text by Jürgen Lewandowski, the automotive
section editor of the Süddeutsche Zeitung for
over 20 years, and the author of over 90 books
about cars
