ASSEMBLY NOTES & TIPS
Bolts – DO NOT FORCE
If there is resistance when you are starting a bolt, back it out and try again. Sometimes there is machining
debris in between the threads that impedes the bolt from going into the insert, but it can usually be cleared by
gently re-starting the bolt. It may take more than one try. Forcing the bolt into the thread when there is
resistance may compromise the strength/integrity of the threaded insert. Once it is lined up straight, most
bolts will turn smoothly. The threaded inserts do have “teeth” that grip into the wooden hole, but if too much
force is applied (e.g. trying to overtighten or forcing it when the threads are not aligned), they will strip the
wood and spin in the hole.
Plastic Pouch – DO NOT REMOVE
Plastic Pouch (empty clear zip-lock bag) attached to the mattress support should NOT be removed. This is
provided by law for storage of the assembly instructions for future referral. Leave that bag in place.
5
Labels – DO NOT REMOVE
ALL labels on cribs are required to be in their particular locations by federal law, and should NEVER be
removed, not even by the consumer. The Federal Regulations require that the labels be indelible, and trying to
remove them will cause harm to the finish.
CONVERSION TO TODDLER BED
THIS CRIB MAY NOT BE USED AS A TODDLER
BED WITHOUT A TODDLER RAIL.
Mattress should be in lowest position. Remove one
side panel by unscrewing the 4 decorative bolts
and lock washers that fasten it to the headboard
panels, and the 2 bolts and washers that attach it
to the leg frames. Be sure to loosen all the other
decorative bolts before attempting to remove the
side panel. Once removed, attach toddler rail (sold
separately) using the same holes and all 6 of the
decorative bolts and lock washers you just
removed. Retighten all remaining decorative bolts
with the allen wrench.
6
For Toddler Bed use, the minimum age shall be no
less than 15 months and the maximum weight shall
not be greater than 50 lb (22.7kg). The mattress
intended for use on the bed shall be a full-size crib
mattress having minimum dimensions of 51-5/8 in.
(1310mm) in length and 27-1/4 in. (690mm) in width
and thickness of no less than 4 in. (100mm) and not
exceeding 6 inches (150mm).
