General Information
Food and Drink: Steve Denison, Bob Weiss and an enthusiastic crew of volunteers are preparing
an outstanding gourmet feast. The ESUC Youth Group will serve the meal. This is their major yearly
fund raiser, so please consider leaving a generous tip in the envelope provided to show your appreciation
and support for our engaged and engaging youth. Wine will be served (by adults) along with homebrewed beer, donated by East Shore’s Master Brewer, Mark Griffin.
Silent Auction Notes: Bidding ends promptly at the assigned times. At the close of each Silent
Auction, the bid sheets will be clearly marked with the winning bid number(s) and amount(s). Copies of
the marked bid sheets remain posted for the duration of the Auction to confirm the winner(s). Please do
not remove any bid sheets the evening of the Auction. You will be formally notified of your purchase in
your Statement of Purchases. If you have been the successful bidder of any actual material items, such as
a basket, you MUST claim your new treasure from the Administration Building upon checkout! We do
not have secure storage, SO PLEASE TAKE HOME ANY PHYSICAL ITEMS YOU WIN AFTER
THE AUCTION.
Bid Sheets: To bid in the Silent Auction, simply write your bid number clearly on the appropriate
Silent Auction bid form. When bidding for multiples of the same item (for example, a couple going to a
dinner), write your bid number in as many squares as you need.
Purchasers:
You will receive a statement summarizing your purchased items. You are responsible
for contacting donors to arrange for delivery of the services or items you have purchased. Their names
are listed in this catalog next to every item. A master list matching donors, items and successful bidders
will be posted on the church website for easy reference.

If you cannot make it to the Auction, ask a
trusted friend to enter a proxy bid. You can register for a bid number even if you are unable to attend.

2 Mardi Gras Dinner
Ruth and Dave will be hosting a Mardi Gras Dinner at their Bellevue home
three days before Fat Tuesday when all of New Orleans will celebrate with music,
parades, dancing and raucous revelry. We plan to begin our celebration with
traditional cocktails and a shrimp appetizer. The main dinner will include seafood
gumbo, crawfish étouffé, dirty rice, andouille sausage, red beans and rice, shrimp
creole, hot cornbread and honey, and other southern dishes that are typical Fat
Tuesday fare. Desserts will include king cake and bread pudding with whiskey
sauce—served with iced tea! The top ten bidders will party in style on Saturday,

12 Beer Pairing Dinner

13 Long Beach Peninsula Family Getaway

14 FUND-A-NEED: LET’S BRING EAST SHORE INTO THE 21ST CENTURY!
The East Shore Facilities Committee, the Board, the Auction Committee and the staff are proposing an update
to East Shore technology. There are three parts to the proposal. Depending on the amount of money raised, we
can do one, two, or all three parts.
We need three new work stations for the office. The Director of Religious Education’s has been replaced, but
the Minister, the Director of Finance and Operations, and the Membership Director all need replacements for
their outdated equipment. Estimated cost is $3,000.
We need a new telephone system. The current system is old technology, quite
complex, and no longer meets our needs. Three systems are under consideration.
Estimated cost is $4,200.
The website needs an upgrade. We rely on the East Shore website as our primary
communication tool. It includes the calendar, Board minutes, RE news and the
BEACON. The site has become technically obsolete and is difficult to maintain. The
Endowment Committee has generously given a grant of $3,000 to cover the first steps of
the redesign. Additional money to proceed with the improvements is needed. Estimated
cost is $3,000.

15 Long Weekend in Leavenworth
Leavenworth is a fun getaway east of the Cascade Mountain Range, two hours
from Seattle. Leavenworth is like a Bavarian village with charming architecture,
shopping and restaurants. Other features of the town and area include: Nussknacker
Haus for authentic nutcrackers, old-fashioned ice cream and candy parlors,
traditional Bavarian dance festivals, Alpine beer gardens, and the Great Bavarian Ice
Fest. There are summer-time outdoor activities such as rafting, kayaking, rock
climbing, golfing, hiking, canoeing and mountain biking. There are many
opportunities for snow sports like downhill and cross-country skiing, snowmobiling,
dog sledding and snowshoeing; locally or at nearby Mission Ridge or Stevens Pass.

245 Original McKellar "Le Chasseur" Southwestern Metal Artwork
Jerry McKellar is an award-winning artist from Colville, Washington. His sculptures range from finely
realistic Western art and wildlife, to African figures and contemporary stylized pieces. Although he is more
known for his many Native American themed large sculptures, this is a "signed" original piece made to hang and
enjoy indoors, and not in direct sunlight The author's quote "I designed this edition off the petroglyph wall
paintings in France." The beautiful Le Chasseur, is made out of stainless steel (cut by a plasma cutter) on which
he placed the patina copper colored "marbling". This art wall hanging will enhance any space it adorns!
