As a fellow human resources professional, I have taken the liberty to reach out to you and share
my perspective of the outstanding working relationship I have built with Ms. Terre Simpson, of Simpson
Associates. I have had the wonderful pleasure of partnering closely with Terre for close to twenty years,
supporting my many varied and challenging retail searches. Dating back to the mid ‘90s, Terre has
supported me in my role as the Vice President of Human Resources for Limited Too, DSW Inc., and
Charming Shoppes Inc.
Throughout this time, Terre has placed literally dozens of highly qualified executives in a myriad
of roles, to include fashion retailing merchandising, design, product development, global sourcing,
marketing, and merchandise planning. Most of these roles had been extremely challenging to find
capable and professionally qualified candidates, and time after time, Terre and her recruitment team
provided top tier talent to my organizations.
Most notably, Terre’s searches resulted in delivering two Senior Vice President – General
Merchandise Managers, several Vice President, Divisional Merchandise Managers, and too many
buyer/merchants to count. In my current role, Terre developed the search strategies that yielded our
Senior Vice President and Chief Merchant, Marketing Director, and three Buyer candidates. Her uncanny
ability to understand our business, her relentless pursuit for the appropriate candidate, and her overall
loyalty to myself and my corporation has brought me back to rewarding Terre with these searches again
and again. In addition, I have never worked with a placement professional that has partnered more
effectively with candidates in both presenting the opportunity, preparing for the interviews, and ultimately
supporting the hiring organization in closing the offer and placement. Her wealth of contacts throughout
the retail industry, and her drive to find the most qualified candidate, regardless of the challenge has
