HKUST’s 4-year UG Programs and Admissions Admission to 4Y Program Distinctive Features of School‐based admission • Introduction of University Common Core • Students will opt the School they wish to join • Choose major(s) after completing the fundamentals at respective School for 2‐4 terms • Intensive academic advising to help students explore their interest and decide on study path University Core Curriculum • • • • Each common core broad area has clearly defined learning outcomes All undergraduates will complete the same set of common core requirements regardless of their major discipline of study. Students are expected to complete the majority of the common core credits in Years 1 and 2.
