MATCHING EXERCISE
Objectives of Subject Matching
Exercise
• To give every student the most appropriate
subject combination to develop his/her
abilities, interests and potential to the fullest.
• To meet students’ post-secondary aspirations.
Considerations for
Subject Offerings
1. Subject requirements and options for Junior
College, Polytechnic and ITE courses.
2. Students’ interests and abilities (based on
analysis of students’ performance, and teachers’
& students feedback).
3. Availability of school resources.
Subject Matching Exercise
Process
1. All students are offered subjects based on
consideration of merit (by overall sec 2
performance), interest and aptitude (by relevant
sec 2 subjects)
2. Subject is offered when there is a minimum class
size of 8 – 10 students, depending on the nature of
the subject.
