The positive healing impact created by the Naam Yoga Superclasses for Peace not

NAAM YOGA
The technology of Naam Yoga is being shared
with the world by Dr. Joseph Michael Levry in

accessible self-healing technology for those

Naam Yoga uses highly refined yogic

Q: And now Dr. Levry is applying these
concepts to mantra music?
A [Dr. Robert Mirshak]: After receiving my
Doctorate in music, I moved to New York City.
My wife took me to my first Naam Yoga class.
In that class, the founder of Naam Yoga,
Dr. Joseph Michael Levry, led us in chanting
Naam mantra. I was a total skeptic, but that
night, after that class, my digestion improved
literally overnight and I slept through the
night for the first time in a year. The healing
effects were so powerful that I’ve been analyzing the science behind it ever since
(12 years).
A: The process of researching music and
mantra helped me to understand why I was
so drawn to Dr. Levry’s music. Each note of
the diatonic scale, every pitch, frequency
and rhythm, corresponds to a different part
of the body, much in the same way the bottom of the foot contains reflex points for the
entire body. This healing meditation music
can be used as an audio version of reflexology therapy for the brain and body. The fact
that Dr. Levry uses exact pitches, vowels and
consonants that correspond to energetic
frequencies is a revolutionary concept.
Q: What sets Dr. Levry’s development of
this music apart from other mantra music?
A: Dr. Levry follows a line of wisdom called
psychotherapeutic mathematics used by
great thinkers, such as the Greek philosopher, mathematician and mystic, Pythagoras.
He believed the universe was comprised of
sounds and numbers.

There are many well-respected classical musicians who used the same philosophy when
structuring their music. For example, Bach,
Mozart and Beethoven used the diatonic scale
of a piano keyboard and numerous applications of what is known as the Golden Section
(aka, the Golden Ratio, or 1.618).
Q: What is Naam?
A: The Naam (the “Word”) Dr. Levry uses is
set to music with a precise mathematical
formula. A strategically constructed vibration is produced with specific pitch, repetitive
consonant use, vowel sounds and rhythm,
and mixed with heart-opening music. It has
an incredibly healing impact on the mind,
body and spirit.
Naam changes the cells of the body and the
brain waves. It creates positive change, helping move our thoughts from duality to unity,
from negativity to positivity. This is the power
of Naam.
The world’s largest yoga class in history took place in Mexico City
on November 13th 2011. Over 12,000 people were led by founder
of Naam Yoga, Dr Joseph Michael Levry in Plaza de la Constitución
(Zócalo Square), one of the largest public squares in the world.

open on Nov.1 whether the weather supports ice or not.
The parking lot at 5th and Arizona has
been converted into an 8,000 square foot
winter playground thanks to Downtown
Santa Monica Inc, and some very large generators that maintain freezing temperatures
under the ice.
While officially open on Nov. 1, the rink
will host a Grand Opening Celebration on
Nov. 6 from 6 - 10 p.m. The event will be
headlined by a performance from the
California Gold Synchronized Skating team.
Officers and mentors of the Santa Monica
Police Activities League (PAL) will also be in
attendance with their youth members to
participate in this community bonding
experience. Guests, family and friends can
engage a cookie decorating station, an interactive wintry-themed photo-booth, and
mobile screen-printing activations. Music
will be provided by DJ Kelly Dlux, local
restaurants will be providing food, there will
be kids crafts, giveaways and an interactive
photo booth.
Organizers said the rink draws people for
a full day of entertainment because the cost,
$15, covers a full day. Visitors can come
down to skate in the morning, head downtown for lunch or shopping, then return for
an evening spin on the ice without having to
pay again.

paredes del salón que cada semana acoge a los miembros del Club
de Oro retumban con un merengue que alegra a los veintitantos
ancianos que han podido llegar
ese día. De pronto, la música es
reemplazada por una tonada
celestial que invita a todos a tomar asiento frente a la instructora
de yoga, la brasileña Renata Spironello.
Lo que sigue es estiramiento de
extremidades, movimientos de
cabeza y una intensa sacudida de
manos acompañada por fuertes
carcajadas. Se explica que la risa
es un excelente remedio para el
alma, receta que sin duda ha sido
fundamental para la recuperación
de muchos asistentes, entre ellos
Berta Ballesteros.
Esta mexicana de 68 años de
edad y oriunda del estado de
Nayarit comenta a HOY que hace
un año comenzó a visitar este club
y que ha visto cambios positivos
en su salud.
“Antes no podía mover mis
manos y andaba muy deprimida
porque murió mi esposo. El yoga
me ha ayudado mucho a recuperar el movimiento en mis manos y
también con el estrés”, dice Ballesteros.
María Grados, nutricionista y
coordinadora del Club de Oro,
explica que el programa, que
además de yoga incluye clases de
zumba y de nutrición, está diseñado para evitar la depresión entre
los ancianos y promover su salud.
“La mayoría de los ‘seniors’
latinos tienen muy poco conocimiento sobre salud porque cuando llegaron a este país muchos lo
hicieron para trabajar y sin educación de sus países ni conocimiento
del inglés”, explica Grados. “El
yoga, en particular, ha ayudado
mucho, tanto física como espiritualmente. Y es cierto que antes

Naam Yoga Los Angeles hosted their 3rd Anniversary Gala Celebration and Fundraiser “A Simple Gift!” on Friday, Oct. 24.
Proceeds from the event benefited their 501(c)(3) and Giving Naam community outreach programs. These programs benefit
many people with health challenges such as cancer, thyroid health, diabetes, autism, heart health, brain and nervous system

Historic districts are made up of a group
of buildings that, together, contribute to an
overall historical significance. Once designated, properties within these districts are
protected, making it harder for property

vocal Performance from The university of Michigan. he
represents many of the world’s finest classical singers,
conductors and stage directors. he is currently researching music and meditation, including rhythm, mantra and
meditation practices. he also analyzes particular mantras, why they work and their effects in the brain.
Q [Mantra]: How did you develop your
interest in researching music and mantra?
Q: And now Dr. Levry is applying these
concepts to mantra music?
A [Dr. Robert Mirshak]: After receiving my
Doctorate in music, I moved to New York City.
My wife took me to my first Naam Yoga class.
In that class, the founder of Naam Yoga,
Dr. Joseph Michael Levry, led us in chanting
Naam mantra. I was a total skeptic, but that
night, after that class, my digestion improved
literally overnight and I slept through the
night for the first time in a year. The healing
effects were so powerful that I’ve been analyzing the science behind it ever since
(12 years).
A: The process of researching music and
mantra helped me to understand why I was
so drawn to Dr. Levry’s music. Each note of
the diatonic scale, every pitch, frequency
and rhythm, corresponds to a different part
of the body, much in the same way the bottom of the foot contains reflex points for the
entire body. This healing meditation music
can be used as an audio version of reflexology therapy for the brain and body. The fact
that Dr. Levry uses exact pitches, vowels and
consonants that correspond to energetic
frequencies is a revolutionary concept.
Q: What sets Dr. Levry’s development of
this music apart from other mantra music?
A: Dr. Levry follows a line of wisdom called
psychotherapeutic mathematics used by
great thinkers, such as the Greek philosopher, mathematician and mystic, Pythagoras.
He believed the universe was comprised of
sounds and numbers.
There are many well-respected classical musicians who used the same philosophy when
structuring their music. For example, Bach,
Mozart and Beethoven used the diatonic scale
of a piano keyboard and numerous applications of what is known as the Golden Section
(aka, the Golden Ratio, or 1.618).
Q: What is Naam?
A: The Naam (the “Word”) Dr. Levry uses is
set to music with a precise mathematical
formula. A strategically constructed vibration is produced with specific pitch, repetitive
consonant use, vowel sounds and rhythm,
and mixed with heart-opening music. It has
an incredibly healing impact on the mind,
body and spirit.
Naam changes the cells of the body and the
brain waves. It creates positive change, helping move our thoughts from duality to unity,
from negativity to positivity. This is the power
of Naam.
Q: What are some of the ways that Dr.
Levry has applied this musical science
for world healing?
A: When 21,000 people came together this

A: The Institute of Noetic Sciences states,
“There is data to suggest that it takes only the
square root of one percent of a population to
align their thinking for mass consciousness
to change.” This means when 21,000 people
meditate together, it affects approximately
17.5 billion people, which equates to the world
population approximately 2 ½ times over.
