I couldn’t wait to hone my skills in order to knit stylish, well-fitting sweaters and accessories to fill out my then knitwear-starved wardrobe. I quickly discovered that knitting patterns for men were much harder to come by than I would have guessed. Finding that stylish, high-quality sweater pattern that danced in my head started to feel like a search for the holy grail. Shortly thereafter I decided to go rogue and do my own thing, starting out by altering available patterns for women to work for men and eventually creating my own original pieces. I am absolutely grateful for that experience – it certainly was the first thing to start me down the path that led to my career. Ever since, though, I have wanted to put together a full collection of men's knits for those knitters who find themselves in the same boat as I was then. Whether you’re a male knitter, or have a son, father, husband, partner or brother who is always asking for a sweater, this collection is for you. The finished collection was photographed in Greenpoint Brooklyn, mere blocks away from my old apartment where Brooklyn Tweed had its humble beginnings. These factors all combine to make this a very special and dear collection to me. Along with my fellow design team members, we sincerely hope you enjoy our first official contribution toward the genre of men's knitwear.
