Materials:
Koigu "KPPPM " - 1 skein
100% Merino Wool
50g/170 yds
US 1(2.5mm) Set o
of DPNs or Long Circular Needles
Gauge:
8sts/in over stockinette sti
stitch

2x2 Rib Pattern: *K2,P2*
NOTE: This pattern features a palm gusset. As the name would suggest, the gusset
shaping is only on the palm side. You will make a right-hand mitt and
d a left-hand
left
mitt.
Cuff:
1. CO 52 stitches onto DPNs or circular needle. Join the round and knit 2x2 Rib
until cuff is 1.5 inches.
2. Knit .5 inch plain stockinette (~7 rows).

Left Glove Gusset Shaping:
3. Mark the gusset stitches as follows K24,PM,inc 1,K4, PM. Then *K* to end of
round.
4. Knit 1 round plain.
5. Knit to first marker, slip marker, inc1, knit to end of round.
6. Knit 1 round plain
7. Repeat rounds 5-6 until there are 20 stitches between markers.
Right Glove Gusset Shaping:
3. Mark the gusset stitches as follows K24,PM,K4,inc 1, PM. Then *K* to end of
round.
4. Knit 1 round plain.
5. Knit to first marker, slip marker,knit to second marker, inc 1, slip marker, knit to
end of round.
6. Knit 1 round plain
7. Repeat rounds 5-6 until there are 20 stitches between markers.
Hand:
8. K24 stitches, remove marker, slip next 20 stitches onto waste yarn, remove
second marker
9. Next round: Using any method you choose, CO 4 stitches onto end of right
needle
10. Continue knitting to end of round. You should again have 52 stitches on your
needles.
11. Continue knitting plain until the glove measures 1" from the stitches added to
cover the gusset gap.
12. Knit 1" of 2x2 ribbing then cast off
Thumb:
13. Slip gusset stitches from waste yarn onto 2 DPNs or circular needle. If using
DPNs, use a 3rd needle to pickup 4 stitches from the gap. If using a long circ,
slip stitches onto cable, then use end of needle to pickup 4 gap stitches.

14. Knit 1 round plain
15. Knit .5 to 1" of 2x2 ribbing
bing then bind off.
Weave in the ends and rock your mitts!
