Needles: Size US 13
needles, or those needed to
obtain gauge.
Gauge: ~ 2½ stitches = 1".
A: Seed Border Blanket:
With 2 strands held
together, loosely cast on 73
sts.
Work in seed stitch
pattern for 8 rows as
follows:
Seed stitch pattern: *(p1,
k1) repeat from * to last
stitch, end with p1.
Row 9: P1, k1, p1, k1, p1,
knit to last 5 stitches, p1,
k1, p1, k1, p1.
Row 10: P1, k1, p1, k1,
p1, purl to last 5 stitches,
p1, k1, p1, k1, p1.
Repeat rows 9 & 10 until piece measures about 30”. Work in seed stitch pattern for 8 rows as before. Bind off loosely
on next row in seed stitch. Weave in ends.
B: Blocks Blanket:
With 2 strands held together, loosely cast on 73 stitches.
Knit 6 rows.
Row 1(RS): K4, *(k13, p13), repeat from * to last 17 stitches, k13, k4.
Row 2: K4, *(p13, k13), repeat from * to last 17 stitches, p13, k4.
Rows 3 – 18: Repeat rows 1 and 2- 8 more times.
Row 19: K4, *(p13, k13), repeat from * to last 17 stitches, p13, k4.
Row 20: K4, *(k13, p13), repeat from * to last 17 stitches, k13, k4.
Rows 21 – 36: Repeat rows 19 and 20 – 8 more times.
Repeat rows 1 – 36, then rows 1-18. Knit 5 rows. Bind off loosely knitwise. Weave in ends.
