Leidy Utility Probes are made of 1/2” diameter solid non-conductive
fiberglass with 3/4” diameter steel tips and are used to safely locate
underground utilities. Ends are forged of high carbon steel, welded to
a steel coupler and affixed to the handle with industrial strength epoxy.

BODY BELT SIZING
The most critical measurement of a body belt, in terms of comfort, is the dee measurement. The proper dee size is normally
found by measuring from the prominent part of one hip bone around the back to the same point on the other hip bone. Add 2”
for padded belts and 4” for light weight Dri-lex® belts so that the dee ring heels are just forward of the hip bones and not on them.
All measuring should be done over clothing to be worn under the belt. Normal combinations of dee and belt measurements
are shown below. A body belt sized for the proper dee to dee size will fit correctly with the buckle tongue engaged in the
center hole. This allows additional holes on 1" centers on either side for adjusting to maximum or minimum length.

Body Belt Information
Inspect your body belt prior to every use for:
• Cracks, nicks, distortion, or corrosion of hardware.
• Loose stitching, broken threads or burns.
• Loose or worn rivets.
• Loose grommets or elongated holes on waist strap.
• Worn Material.
• Broken accessory snap or ring.
• Tool loops worn to allow tools to fall free.
• Pocket tabs that won’t support pouches and tools.
Immediately remove the belt from service
if any of these conditions exist.
Never:
• Modify or punch a hole in a support component of the
body belt.
• Use a body belt made of all leather.
• Disconnect waist strap and rely on gut strap or suspenders
(suspenders & gut straps are rated to maximum of 25 lbs.).
• Use an accessory ring, snap or suspender rings for work
positioning.

THE BUCKSQUEEZE WOOD POLE
FALL PROTECTION SYSTEM

This is the most widely used wood pole fall protection system. Used to
fall protect line personnel from the ground to the elevated work position
and back to the ground. The BuckSqueeze user hitchhikes up and down
the pole and if the user starts to fall, the strap squeezes the pole, securing
the user and prevents a fall. While climbing over obstructions, the user
secures a secondary lanyard or positioning strap (not included) prior to
removing the BuckSqueeze. Fits distribution poles with a circumference

Climber guards are manufactured by the dipping process using the same formulation
of rubber as our lineman’s insulating gloves and sleeves. Climber guards are
furnished un-slit to accommodate any length, regular or adjustable climbers.
Accident records show an alarming number of contacts with primaries by hands
or arms, while feet are in contact with grounded secondaries, transformers, guys,
etc. The use of specially constructed rubber overshoes and rubber climber guards
