The White Sands Off-Leash Dog Park
The White Sands
Off-Leash Dog Park
A new four-season, six-acre city park for dogs and
their owners is now complete! The focal point of the
park is a 1/4 mile chip trail bordering a pond. This
site was chosen for its natural setting by an official
task force appointed by the Faribault City Council.
The Task Force chose the former White Sands OutOut
door Pool area out of many possible sites. The beautiful outdoor setting and the fact it was city-owned land
made it the best choice for the new park. It also happened to be the site that would take the least amount
of startup capital and volunteer labor.
The White Sands Off-Leash Dog Park was able to
open in Fall 2009 because an outpouring of volunteers worked hundreds of hours. The generous
spirit shown by these people and contributions from
area businesses have made the dog park a place to
enjoy for years to come.
The Park shares bathroom amenities and a rest area
with the all-season White Sands Trailhead, a parkand-ride facility built for Sakatah-Singing Hills Trail
users. Find the Dog Park at 900 Lyndale Ave. North
in Faribault.
