Secondary dressings will be needed with this product category.
Highly absorbent. Maintain a moist wound surface. The softness of these products makes
them very conformable and manipulable, ideal for wounds requiring packing. The product can
be easily removed without damage to healthy granulation. Indications: Moderate and heavy
drainage, full thickness, granular and slough covered wounds, infected wounds.
Contraindication: Dry wounds, eschar, none to minimal exudate, 3rd degree burns, and
wounds with exposed tendon or bone.

Many encourage fibroblast production, stimulating new tissue growth within the wound. Provides
another source for MMPs to target protecting the body’s own healthy collagen. Non-adherent
characteristics minimize irritation and protect the wound from trauma when dressings are changed.
Various forms (gels, pastes, powders, pads). Indications: Active benefit to non-healing wounds,
chronic wounds. Contraindications: Heavily necrotic, infected wounds.
