THE FEAST OF THE “PAILET”

The aim of this feast is to live through
those activities that made Ronco Biellese
one of the most important piemontese
centres for the handmade production of
terracotta dishes
(Pailets) and,
exactly for this purpose, the feast takes
place in
the
“Ecomuseo
della
terracotta”, a meaningful cell of the
Ecomuseo Biellese.

PROGRAM:
10,00 - Arrival to the central square of Ronco Biellese
10,30 - Guided visit to the Ecomuseo of the Terracotta, that hosts, in these days, the
personal exhibition of the sculptor Brenno Pesci.
To follow:
- Guided visit to the laboratory for the manufacturing of the clay. Here you can find
an exhibition of the famous terracotta stoves from Castellamonte plus an exhibition
of ceramic sculptures from the art school of Castellamonte.
- Guided visit to other “Pailets” exhibitions.
12,30 - Lunch with typical “polenta concia” (thick porridge made with maize flour)
14,30 - Visit to the kiln and optional trias in the clay laboratory.
16,00 - Performances and shopping in the square: stalls with the varied types of baked
clays and music
18,00 - End of the tour
The price includes: sunday lunch (drinks not included). This tour should best be integrated with WE1 or WE2.
The price does not include: bus transfers, beverages, extras, everything not included in "The price includes"
Options: transfers by bus from and to the airport. Price on request depending on the number of participants (including
driver’s room and board).
