KAFRISSEN: Q. What's the purpose of that phone call? A. To confirm with the patient that the eve drops were started, whether the patient has questions, to give the patient instructions for the day of surgery such as to take their regular medicines. Q. Is there anything in the note that you see in the preoperative phone call, notations made by the nurse, that causes you any concern in going ahead with the procedure on the 20th? A. Wait, this is 3/20, are you talking about the preoperative phone call, is there anything that gives me any concern, is that your question? Q. Yes. R. No, nothing. Q. Right, the surgery is 3/20? A. Right. Q. And when are the preop orders done, there's a thing called lasik surgery order and that's Page 2. That is a sheet indicating e::actly what the laser A. is programmed to do. Now, this says, I don't know who wrote this on Q. the top, done 3/19, it was just on the copy. When is the laser programed? The day before surgery, normally. A. So what were looking at here which is a sheet Q. that's says sheet 1 at the top, Page 1 at the bottom, it has handwritten on the top done 3/19/97, is e::actly what the laser has been programed to do during the surgery? A. Yes. Do you know whether any alteratich was made w1 Q. that programming at any time up to and through the surgery? A. None to my knowledge. Who does the progtemming? Q. A. Usually our director of nursing. Q.
