In Their Own Words We are always happy to hear about how our programs impact our participants. Here are a few comments we received recently: From a Bow Valley College student: “I just wanted to send a quick message to thank you for setting up Walk In Closet appointments. I had mine today and I am absolutely ecstatic and motivated to get my job search and professional career started now that I have the outfits to do so. The ladies at the Walk In Closet are positive and friendly; a great environment! Thanks again, this program has great value for students!" From an Employment and Life Skills participant: ”Making Changes gave me the push, opened my mind…It really helped me a lot, because I was down when I came to Making Changes. It changed completely the way I was seeing things. I said, ‘yeah, I can do it.’ I can go through [an] interview. I can go for [the] job I want." From a mother following her daughters' appointments at My Best Friend's Closet: “It was like heaven for them when they came there. They have always had a hard time going to school every year, wearing the same clothes. I am low income and raise my daughters all on my own. I never, ever, buy clothes for them. Only from thrift stores when I can. It really was heaven for them when they came to My Best Friend’s Closet because they got to pick clothes they liked. And later, they were like, showing them off in front of their friends. It’s the first year they’re proud to go to school. Thank you so much.” LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS Urgent Needs Urgent Needs All donations of new and gently used clothing items and accessories are gratefully accepted.
