Who We Are
TEAMWORK VALUES ETHICS COMMUNICATION
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT COMPETITION CULTURE
STRENGTH COMMUNITY SPORTSMANSHIP
The Coaches Site believes that sport, in our case hockey, should provide all participants with a development opportunity that is unique to each
player. The hockey rink is a classroom that provides individuals an opportunity to discover their potential. In our opinion, coaches have the biggest
influence on an athlete’s experience with sport and our goal is to develop a community that shares the skills, practices and insights from the
game’s top coaches and experts. Through our 5th Annual Hockey Coaches Conference and website, we have a platform to directly impact hockey
culture. And our network is growing! Join our team and help contribute to the positive experience players, coaches, parents and volunteers enjoy
at the rink.
“One coach will influence more people in one year than the average
person will do in a lifetime.”
Why?
• Demonstrate a commitment to
supporting a more positive sporting
experience for young athletes
• Gain direct contact with potential
customers and thought leaders in
the hockey industry
• Attract independent media coverage
through your participation as a
sponsor
• Reaffirm your position as a supporter
of grassroots hockey and community
programs
Testimonials
“First class event with a great hockey environment and culture. Top
notch speakers that really understand their audience and can deliver
the message that will help you grow as a coach and a mentor of
athletes. This conference will bring the best out of you heading to the
new season.”
- Maco Balkovec Hockey Director, Burnaby Winter Club
“The Coaching Conference provides an unique opportunity for
aspiring coach’s to learn from the best within the game of hockey. The
content which the conference delivers is an invaluable resource that I
have been able to apply regularly in my daily work.”
-Yogi Svejkovsky
Assistant Coach, Vancouver Giants, WHL
“The coaches site conference is an invaluable resource for coaches of
any level. Aaron brings in speakers with such a great depth and variety
of knowledge you can’t help but learn something that you can take
back with you to use and share with your fellow coaches. I especially
enjoyed the opportunity to discuss the presentations with the other
participants at the round table to listen to their perspectives. It’s a
great opportunity to listen to passionate and knowledgeable people
talk about the sport we all love.”
-Adam Maglio
Assistant Coach, UBC Men's Hockey

Charity
Hockey Education Reaching Out Society (HEROS) is a volunteer-driven charity that uses the game of ice
hockey to teach life-skills and empower young people across Canada. HEROS’ free programs provide
youth a “team for life” by celebrating in their first goal on the ice and assisting in their dreams off the
ice. By providing a safe and stable environment for young people to succeed, experiment and connect,
HEROS guides its participants to become constructive citizens within their communities.
The Coaches Site is proud to host a charity reception for H.E.R.O.S on the Friday evening following the
first day of the conference. This annual event includes a hot stove featuring some of our notable
speakers and auction. The reception has become a highlight of the conference weekend and provides a
great networking opportunity for delegates and sponsors.
