SOLAR SUBMERSIBLE PUMPING SYSTEM
With 5 decades of engineering expertise in pump industry C.R.I. has
introduced Solar Pumping systems considering the need of water in remote
areas with NO power distribution & understanding the importance of using
Green Energy. Solar Pumps are developed with different materials of
construction and reasonably good range to meet customer requirement. Both
Screw and Centrifugal type Solar Pumps are available with different head and
flow range. These Pumps are powered by C.R.I. Oil filled permanent magnet,
brushless DC motors. Every component of the pumping system is designed &
manufactured to deliver sustained high efficiency.
SOLAR PANEL FUNCTIONALITY
Solar panels collect solar radiation from the sun and actively convert that
energy to electricity. Solar panels are comprised of several individual solar
cells and function similarly to large semiconductors and utilize a large-area
p-n junction diode. When the solar cells are exposed to sunlight, the p-n
junction diodes convert the energy from sunlight into usable electrical energy.
The energy generated from photons striking the surface of the solar panel
allows electrons to be knocked out of their orbits and released, and electric
fields in the solar cells pull these free electrons in a directional current (D.C.),
from which metal contacts in the solar cell can generate electricity. The more
solar cells in a solar panel and the higher the quality, the more total electrical
output the solar panel can produce. The conversion of sunlight to usable
electrical energy is otherwise known as the Photovoltaic Effect. The
photovoltaic effect arises from the properties of the p-n junction diode, as
such there are no moving parts in a solar panel.
SOLAR PANEL OUTPUT
Factors that affect the output of solar panels are weather conditions, shade
caused by obstructions to direct sunlight, and the angle and position at which
the solar panel is installed.
Solar panels delivers the best output when placed in direct sunlight, away from
obstructions that might cast shade, and in areas with high regional solar
insolation ratings.
Solar panel efficiency can be optimized by using dynamic mounts that follow
the position of the sun in the sky and rotate the solar panel to get the
maximum amount of direct exposure during the day as possible.
SOLAR ENERGY FLOW SYSTEM
In our system the collecting device is lead acid battery which collect and store
the energy (D.C. Power). The D.C. Power energy stored in the battery can be
used in multiple forms & can be used during day and night depending on
storage capacity. This process is usually integrated into solar photovoltaic
system where energy collected and stored almost instantaneously. In case of
solar pumps with D.C. Motor the stored D.C. Power from the battery can be
used directly. For pump driven by A.C. motor, an inverter is used to convert the
D.C. Power stored in the battery to A.C. Power and to maintain stable voltage.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Open the packing and inspect the pump, control box, solar panels and other accessories are in good condition.
2. Install the pumpset as like normal submersible pump in borewell / sump and connect it to the control box,
solar panel, battery (if required) & water level sensors as given in the below diagram (fig. 1).
3. The switch must be in middle position while installation

Example 1 (Pump running time calculation)
If the pump power is 200W, the battery capacity is 100AH, the pump voltage is 12V and when the battery is fully
charged, then the pumpset running hour is calculated as : 100 x 12 x 0.6 / 200 = 3.6 hours.
Example 2 (Battery capacity calculation)
If the pump power is 200W, the pump voltage is 12V, and the battery need to be used for 3.6 hours,
then the battery capacity is calculated as : 3.6 x 200 / 12 x 0.6 = 100AH.
