Eliasberg, Sr., offered by American Numismatic Rarities of Wolfeboro, NH.
In an atmosphere described as “electric” and compared to legendary auctions of
the past, most of the lots surpassed their posted estimates — some by 10 times
as much. The highest individual price paid was for the Venice 50 zecchini of
Doge Alvise Mocenigo IV. This “singularly impressive” piece went for $379,500.
