Summer Camps
Genesee Country Village & Museum offers cool summer experiences
like no other camp in the area. Children who love the outdoors and who
are curious about life in the past
will love summer camp at GCV&M.
Are your children playing too many
video games or watching too much
TV? Do they need an electronic detox? Unplug your summer and provide
them with a one-of-a-kind adventure that will make history!
The Best Summer
Camp in History!
The museum has exceptional programs for children with two options sure to
appeal to any child’s interests: Good Old Days Camp summer sampler programs
recreate what life was like for a child living a long time ago. Using the historic village
as its unique setting, children are immersed in activities that young people who lived
“back in the day” might have experienced. Walk on stilts, participate in a Civil War
military drill, play stool ball or practice your sling shot skills.
Earth Camp nature programs allow children to discover the outdoors with
exciting hands-on adventures. Energetic and fun staff will create memorable
explorations that nurture a child’s connection to the natural world. Watch the
excitement on your child’s face as they recount the day’s adventures. Some of
the possibilities may include: building a fire with flint and steel, navigating through
the backwoods, reeling in the catch of the day and discovering what lives hidden
in the bottom of a pond.
Sign up for your summer adventure soon because classes fill up quickly, and we
don’t want to start the fun without you!

The Best Nature Camp on Earth!
GCV&M has over 700 acres for exploration and play with many varied habitats.
Children who love having fun outdoors will find Earth Camp a memorable experience.
Spend time wading in the creek, cooling off in the shade of the forest or searching for
newts in one of our many ponds.
These weeklong adventures take place Monday through Friday, with the first session
beginning the week of July 11 and the last session beginning the week of August 15. Get
wild and embark on your full-day adventure from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Half-day adventures
(morning or afternoon sessions) are offered for younger campers. Programs fill quickly, so
sign up soon. Advance registration is required.
Supervised camp bus and extended care are available. The Registration Form includes
additional details. Each child receives one Earth Camp T-shirt on the first day of camp.

lead happy, healthy lives. Dirt reduces stress!
During this free play nature program, campers
will be able to choose from a variety of crafts,
games and activities. Play in the creek, build a
fort, go fishing, search for salamanders or cool
off in the sprinkler. Who knows what the day’s
adventure will be? This is a good choice for
children who prefer less structure.

Would you know what to do if you were lost in
the woods or had to spend the night outdoors
without a tent or sleeping bag? Basic survival
skills may include starting a fire, tying knots,
