Robert Gene Klein was born on February 10, 1928`to Bert and Kate
Robert Gene Klein was born on February 10, 1928'to Bert and Kate (Noteboom) Klein at their home in Aurora County, SD. He grew up on a farm south of Stickney, SD and attended Wilson Grade School through the eighth grade. On March 10, 1950 he married his one and only sweetheart, Erma Beukelman in Harrison, SD. To this union three children were born. Together they farmed and raised livestock in Aurora County until they retired in 2004 and moved to Corsica, SD. Bob's greatest joy was receiving Jesus as his Lord and Savior in 1982. After that he became a changed man, husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Bob loved his mother, Kate, so very much and was filled with great joy when he was able to lead her to the Lord in 1991, shortly before she passed away. Bob loved the Lord and all that He created and knew he had a responsibility to care for the things God gave him. He had a precious way of showing God's love to others through his gentleness, kindness, generosity, patience, humor and love. Bob loved spending time with his family and friends telling stories together, fishing, hunting, flying a plane, riding 4-wheeler and just talking over the hood of a pickup. Whenever anyone would stop by at the farm or find him in the field or pasture, Bob would drop whatever he was doing and have all the time in the world to visit. His specialty was giving his family a ride around the section checking out the crops, looking for a gopher or two, spotting a fox in the distance, finding a nest of duck eggs and showing us his Hereford calves. A ride around . the section usually ended up being a 20 mile ride. Bob passed away on Wednesday, April 24,2013 at the Platte Care Center at the age of 85. Today he is rejoicing and praising God! Bob's desire is for each one of us to receive Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior and to be reunited in Heaven.
