get this taken care of ASAP so we can update the roster and be set for 2015.
RPM has renewed our IPMS Charter for 2015. Toby Halliday is our new chapter contact.

Motorcycles are the theme for February. There is also talk of a “paint swap” at the meeting. Bring any and all
paint to swap with fellow members. “I know I have a FEW cans of Grape Pearl taking up space in my rack...”
We also touched on the Building Challenge proposed by our president, Jim Allen. This was laid out in last
month’s President’s message and we will discuss further at the February meeting.
president’s
message
Hi All,
Well, we are into the second month of 2015, hope everyone had a productive January. We spent the
month in Brownsville, TX working on my models, and enjoying the warmer temperatures. Speaking of working on models, I cannot wait for our meeting to see what everyone else has built!! Remember, for the new
folks, and older members who have not completed a model in a year, we will give a kit away to the person
that brings in his first completed model. If there is more than one (Hurray!!), we will draw names for the winner. For you veteran builders who regularly complete models, we will draw for some accessory, a set of tires,
paint, glue, etc, to help you work and complete your models. very proud of you all. I look forward to seeing
your new and old examples on the table.
Just a quick reminder about your yearly dues, they are due by the close of our February meeting in order
to keep you active on our 2015 roster.
Our two officer Bob’s are working very hard on that project, so see one of them if you have not yet paid.
That will allow us to have the roster completed by early March, and out to you all.
Like me, I know many of you are working on ‘60s era stock car projects, hopefully, along with mine, we
will see some of your In Progress projects, or completed models on the table. That era of stock cars have
always been my favorite. That’s it for now, see you all Saturday the 21st. Jim

on the table
Bob Maderich brought along his 1/43 Delahaye 135s
that ran at the 1937 LeMans race. It is a MCM white metal
kit. Also, the #17 Pearson ‘69’ Ford Talledega was there in
progress.
Welcome to the new year, modeling compatriots!
We had a good turnout of built and in-progress cars for
the table, let’s begin!
Bill Johanneck got his “Nomader” done and it is being
towed by a ‘55’ Chevy Panel express custom. The extended Nomader was painted in a BRIGHT fluorescent red!
Brad Knight is doing the K&K ‘68’ Dodge Charger for the
club’s ‘60’s stock car challenge. It was in the early stages,
with the interior and roll cage set up.
Cameron Jamieson had two Porsche 936’s just about
ready for decals. Both are Mitsuwa kits and wore Martini
colors in 1976. He also had the Parnelli Jones ‘63’ Watson
Roadster in progress with the correct resin nose.
Don Stauffer is hard at work on his completely scratchbuilt 1/6 scale Offy 270 engine.
Made from various materials it will be a stunner when
done.
Clint Williams is doing another swamp buggy and this
one is based on a Jeep CJ5. It has lots of scratch built and
resin parts. If it’s anything like his last ‘buggy’ it will be a
stunner. He also had a ‘66’ Charger for his entry into the
‘60’s stocker challenge. Originally a Cotton Owens car,
Clint is doing it in Elvis colors!
Neal Englemen jumped aboard the ‘60’s stock car challenge with a ‘64 Ford Galaxie. It was ready for paint and
looked great. He’s doing a Dave Marcis car.
Paul O’Brien graced us with the old, old Monogram ‘40’
Ford pickup and a newer ‘71’ Duster. That pickup brings
back some memories.
Paul Huntington’s granddaughter, Lydia, showed off the
3 cars that she built recently.
They were a new Beetle, and two new Camaros. One was
a ragtop, and the other was a coupe. Keep up the good
work, Lydia!
Andy Martin is hard at work on his “White Elephant” Porsche 935. He’s correcting some inaccuracies to this 1980
Daytona winner. He also had the old Monogram “Sizzler”
that he’s using as a basis for the “Common Kit” challenge
at this years GSL.
New member, Jim Bialles, finished the “Bugaboo” and he
called it some quite colorful names, but it is done. Looking resplendent in yellow, Jim used Alclad for the first
time on this dragster.
Thats all Folks!
A ‘62’ Ford T-bird road racer?? you say?? Well, Tim Graf has
one in progress. He brought the car in plastic along with
the pics that show the real car. Yikes! Tim, you go!
