THE ZEAL IN NEW ZEALAND
Though Peter Jackson scouted picturesque New Zealand for
his blockbuster films, there’s much more to the island country
than rolling hills and bucolic scenery — New Zealand has its fair share of
sophisticated haunts and modern museums.
Auckland alone has a bevy of sights to see. From the 1,076-foot tall
futuristic Sky Tower, which houses Peter Gordon’s famed fusion restaurant,
The Sugar Club, to the savvy shopper’s mecca known as the High Street
District where you can purchase the latest in timepiece accessories,
Auckland is a jet-setter’s playground. Art lovers will want to pay a visit
to Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki. The sleek gallery has many of New
Zealand’s most treasured works of historic, modern, and contemporary art,
as well as pieces by Māori and Pacific Island artists.
Culturephiles will appreciate the vast collection of artifacts and historical
resources and exhibits found at The Auckland War Memorial Museum. The
museum — New Zealand’s first — serves as both a venue for learning about
the storied past of the country and its people, and also as a war memorial
that takes you through the multifaceted progression of the country’s
emergence as a nation.

LOOKING AT THE WORLD THROUGH ROSE-COLORED GLASSES IS NOT
just for the perennial optimist anymore. This season, wearing pink just
got a lot more masculine with the surprisingly mod merger of black and
rose gold. Everything from shoes and jewelry to watches and, yes, even
eyewear, has been given the Midas touch in varying shades of rose gold
laced in onyx hues. For a look that’s at once mechanically masculine and
yet contemporarily stylish, add a little shine in just the right places and
everything in your world will be coming up roses.

TIME IS A TRULY MAGICAL THING. A MERE MATTER OF
hours is all it takes to transform a bustling sunny shopping
strip into a romantic midnight esplanade lined with flickering
candles. A simple sequence of moments can turn a simple
farm horse and buggy into a mobile fondue table navigating
beneath a canopy of dense forests filled with Swiss truffles
below and sparkling stars above.
A city can completely change depending on the time.
During the bright hours of the day, structure reigns supreme
as people hurry to appointments and seek to be on time. But
at night, something magical happens. Time slows down into a
series of unpredictable moments and glorious possibilities as
the setting sun lies to rest each night.
Certain experiences can be transcendent, however, not all
experiences are created equal. From eating truffle fondue at
twilight in Switzerland to letting the stars guide your path
in Israel or watching the city lights from high above in San
Francisco, here are a few destinations that offer amazing
sights during starry nights.

when the sun goes down behind the
snow-capped mountains.
With a history dating back more than
6,000 years, people have been flocking
to the shores of Yverdon-les-Bains to
