2. To approve Central Valley Middle School students: Hadley Baughman, Nico Roppo, Dan
Tanaskovic and to practice and participate in Hopewell’s swim meets this spring, pending
approval by the Hopewell Area Board of Education. If approved, Kristen Baughman and Laura
Roppo will serve as the Central Valley parent representatives, pending review, receipt and
acceptance of all required clearances. It is understood that transportation to and from practices
and meets will be provided by the swimmers' parents.
3. To give final approval to the JV and Varsity Baseball team trip to Florida March 18, 2015 – March
25, 2018. Attachment F

Discussion: Mr. Perry said that the 9 ½ month secretary position will be posted according to
the contract. Mr. Perry also discussed Act 153 clearance requirements and Act
168 “Pass the Trash” legislation. Mr. Perry said that with the new laws, it could
take more time to get all the necessary clearance and work verification on any
new employee, affecting the start date.

• January is Board Appreciation Month. Mr. Perry recognized and thanked each Board member for
their service to the District.

J. PUBLIC COMMENTS
• Amanda Barr spoke regarding the Act 153 and 168 as it affects volunteers. Ms. Barr asked if a
letter could go out to the PTA giving further explanations. Mr. Perry pointed out the Volunteer
Policy (no. 916) that is already Board Approved and on the website. This policy covered a lot of
the concerns, but a letter will follow up to the PTA with further explanation of the legislation.
