with
the
other
47
association’s state meetings (on their
respective dates), as part of Moose
International’s Karaoke Contest.
There were six Lodge Karaoke

February 14 that provided their lodges
contest. They provided the winners’
names to the chair of the Karaoke
Contest, Richard Shiller from Green Bay
Lodge #801.
Five performed as one, Amy Bodoh,
could not due to her husband, Michael,
having just had open heart surgery.
The five who performed representing
their lodges were:
Bev Walter
L. Cecilla Danlion
Cindy Berry
Kayla Rosenow
Lodi Revolinski
West Bend #197
Muskego #1057
Kenosha #286

the
Chapter
OV,
Betty
Krisza, and the WMA
vice president, Kevin,
Wanggaard – Cindy
Berry was selected as
the WMA winner.
Cindy’s tape will sent to Moose
International’s selection judges. Twelve
(12) of those singers will be selected to
be part of the Moose International’s
Karaoke contest which will be held at
the International Convention in Nashville
Tennessee.

Hopefully all 31 lodges will participate
in 2016’s contest. Good luck, Cindy.
At the State Conference
‘Membership’ and ‘Caring’ the
Themes
Plenty of Moose education and
information was provided this past
March at the Wisconsin State Moose
Association
Conference.
From
Trainings
to
Mooseheart/Haven
updates. From Child ID Programs to
Communications ideas to members.
From sharing to advising. It all was
shared so well from March 12-15 at the
Plaza Hotel in Wausau, WI.
The Moose guests were wonderful,
focusing on member caring, sharing,
and giving, of time and other resources.
They also encouraged being more
proactive, rather than some of the
‘complaining’ lodge / chapter member
emphasis; making it a plan to be neat,
nice and knowledgeable.

Student ID Kit Training Available
Time was set aside Saturday for lodge
members to get acquainted with the 3
Student ID Kits the WMA has available
for lodges to use.
It sets up quickly. The materials need
to make the program work in a given
community is all there.
Marinette
is using one
of the kits
the
on
March 28.
Simply
sign up for
one
kit;
make sure you practice with it before
you have children come to the lodge or
wherever the program is to be provided.
A fantastic item lodges asked for and
the state have available for you.

Ethington putting information into the
Child ID Kit laptop.
Marinette has Successful
Student ID Day
On Saturday, March 28, the Marinette
Moose Lodge #2327 sponsored, along

the Marinette Civic Center. Forty-two
children were ID’d. There were a total
of 8 Moose / Chapter members who
assisted, along with 4 from the radio
station, 42 children getting their ID cd

Greetings Co-Workers!
Well, we
made it through Conference and
hopefully you learned at
least one new item to
take back to your
chapter.
I’m sure
everyone had fun from
what I could see. What
a great Karaoke contest.
I would have hated to be a judge, they
were all so great. Congratulations to all
who participated. Hopefully next year
we will have more contestants!
Also, Thank you to everyone who
helped make this conference a truly
great

Lana LaVelle - DGR 2014-15
From the Wisconsin Moose
Association President
Greetings everyone,
I wish to extend a big
“thank you” to everyone
that attended the midyear
conference
in
Wausau. Fun was had
by one and all along with
lots of information in our
workshops.
Please make an effort to get more of
your members to the September
convention in Manitowoc.
Those of you that are going to
Nashville I’ll see you there.
We have about 4 weeks left in the
year to get our lodges and association
to plus one. Please go the extra yard
and do our best to bring us to the top.
Thanks in advance for all the hard
work.
Respectfully,
Brian Mifflin - President
WI State Moose Association
Message from the Territory #32
Manager
Spring is in the air as
we enter into April and
the final 30 days of the
moose year. We need to
remember what our goals
are over these final days:
PLUS ONE is the main one:
 Be a “Preferred Lodge Award”
winner, lodges must:
1) get your preferred member count
to 7% of your membership,
2) get your retention rate to 85%
Strive to help the association move
towards
being
the
“TOP
ASSOCIATION”.
All of these items can be obtained if
we show that we have pride!
Remember the one thing that
Regional Manager Gordy Dailey talked
about at the mid-year conference: that if
something needs to change or happen
that you need to do it. Don’t wait on the
other member to start it.
What happens at your lodge is up to
YOU! Be that mover and shaker that
helps your lodge make their “Premier
Lodge Award”; gets your lodge to PLUS
ONE or whatever other goal that you are
trying to reach.
I am sure that by doing these things
we will be laying that foundation for the
future days ahead.
A big THANK YOU to all of those
members that have put in much time
and effort to help their lodge reach the
goals that they have already, or will,
reach by the end of this month.
Remember it is about the children at
Mooseheart and the seniors at
Moosehaven.

WI Territorial Manager
From Membership
April is here and so is
spring, I hope.
This news article finds
my family with a new
addition, baby Cora. She
arrived on time and
healthy. Both Amy and
the baby are doing great.
I hope that everyone had a great time
at the 70th Mid-Year Conference and
safe return home. I know that I had a
blast. Our OV, George W. McCullough
III, aka: Jeepy, was outstanding. He
brought so much energy and motivation
to the conference that the room could
hardly contain all of the excitement!
Our membership numbers are still
down, but I know that we can change
this. There is still time to get our
Association to a “PLUS ONE”, so
please keep trying. Moose International
has announced
a couple
of
“tools” for the
tool box that will
be
extremely
help full.
NO
Application
Fees until the
end of April, and
a chance to play
the “King of
Heart”
with
every member
that you sign.
The State Association is also offering
a couple of promotions to encourage
you to sign up new or former members.
From now until the end of April 2015, if
you sign up two new/former members,
your name will be entered into a drawing
for a year’s free dues. There will be a
least one winner from every District.
There is also still time to earn the
Three Season Jacket!
All you have to do is
sign five new or former
members and you will
win the jacket. Pictured
here is Doug Knight of
Muskego Lodge 1057
showing off the jacket. I
have been told that these jackets are
awesome. (Maybe one day Gary will
send me mine…)
The poster within this article is up on
all lodges – everywhere. There is a
copy of it at the end of this month’s
newsletter as well.
Hopefully, with the coming of spring
and with everything starting fresh again,
we can all take that same attitude and
start fresh with a major push in new
membership applications.
Until next month,
Fraternally

Supreme Governor
Visits WI Lodges
Danny
R.
Albert
serves as Supreme
Governor, the chief
presiding officer of the
Loyal Order of Moose.
He spent time in Wisconsin from
Thursday, March 26 through 29. He
visited lodges on his way from Green
Bay to Chippewa Falls before heading
on to Minnesota.
While visiting the Marinette Moose
Lodge #2327, Danny enjoyed their
regular Burger Night; however 105
members and guests took part in
several ventures
Danny spoke of Lodge Commitment
as has been shown at the Marinette
Lodge being a leader in the state for
membership [promotion] and community
activities.
At Marinette that night Danny helped
in
presenting
over $6,100
in monetary
gifts to over
14 various
community
groups.
Eight
different
protective
groups
received a case each of Tommy Moose.
Pictured below are 6 of the protective
groups along with Marinette Moose

Governor
Dennis
Ethington (left) and Danny (holding
Tommy).
On Friday evening, Danny attended a
dinner at Chippewa Moose Lodge #246.
Forty members attended. Also invited,
and came, were the Chippewa sheriff
and fire chief. .
Total Endowment funds collected from
both lodges was over $140.
Thank
you,
Larry
Liljestrand,
Wisconsin Deputy Supreme Governor,
for being the host, chaperone and
Moose Driver of/for Danny Albert
So, who is Danny Albert?
Supreme Governor Albert was elected
to this position at the 126th International
Convention in Las Vegas in June 2014.
He previously served as Supreme Jr.
Governor
during
2013-2014
and
Supreme Prelate during 2012-2013.
Danny has served on the Supreme
Council, the Fraternity’s corporate Board
of Directors, since 2006. Before that he
served on the Moose Charities Board
from 2004-2006, the Mooseheart Board
of Directors from 2000-2004, and 11
years prior on the International Sports
Committee, including as its chairman.
From our Legion Ambassador
. We only have a
couple of Months left
to be on top of the
list for the Wisconsin
Moose Legion, so
let's get moving,
men, and see what
we can do. Each lodge should be trying
to do their part in Signing up New
Moose Legion Members.
Respectfully,
Ambassador Robert Rufer
From the WOTM Membership Chair
WOW! Women of Wisconsin! What
an amazing conference
we had in Wausau!
Many, many thanks to
all that donated to the
“Made in Wisconsin”
pool. Barb Toth from
Milwaukee was the
lucky winner of all the goodies.
It’s so nice to renew friendships and
make new friends when we get together.
Our OV, Betty Krisza was absolutely
amazing! She was fun and informative
and what a joy to have her as our official
visitor.
The end of the Chapter year is just
around the corner and it would be
wonderful for all of us to make our
Award of Achievement. And we all
know that one of the requirements is to
be “plus one” for the Chapter year.
Signing new members plus retaining the
ones that we have will certainly help us
to accomplish that goal but it will take
action on our part to make that happen.
Again, when we became a member
we promised to fulfill two primary
obligations:
1) Increasing the strength of the
Order
by
proposing
for
membership qualified individuals of
high personal character, and
2) Giving of my energy and
substance
in
support
of
Mooseheart and Moosehaven.
Are we living up to those obligations?
If everyone in the state would sign one
member between now and the end of
the Moose year, just think what that
would do for our membership numbers.
I’ll throw the challenge out there and
let’s see what happens. It’s unfortunate
that we all wait until the end of the year,
“crunch time”, and so maybe, just
maybe
we
should
rethink
our
Membership strategies??? Just some
food for thought…..
When I spoke to you at the
conference, I started out by saying that
“when I would stand in front of you and
speak I always felt like I was preaching
to the choir”.
That’s not the case
anymore.
Today I feel like I am
“conversing with a bunch of Rockstars,”
because that is how you all make me
feel. We’re all doing what we can and
giving it our all. The unfortunate part is
we just need to push a little bit harder.
We can do it – we’ve done it before!
So I’m challenging each and every one
of you to sign one new member during
the month of April. Game On!
In Friendship,
Karyn Johnson
Chapter Membership Chair

Spring Brewer Ticket Raffle Drawn at
the State Convention
At the March State
Moose
Association
Conference the winners
of the 20014/15 Brewer

along with 49 other
participant
winners.
Remember, those tickets
can be sold to anyone,
member or not.
The
winning ticket was Bodo
Bube of Neenah, Wisconsin. He chose,
rather than the tickets, a cash card with
$2,500 on it. Congrats to Bodo and the
other 49 winners. They are listed at the
end of this Newsletter.
The Association is now to being one
more state raffle. It is again for the
Grand Prize being two season – home

Lodges will be receiving the tickets by
the end of May along with all Moose /
Chapter members (in the mail). They
will again me $5 for one or three for $10.
Buy, get others to buy. There will be a
large assortment of other prizes as well,
much like what was done with the
Brewer Ticket Raffle.
The Raffle will be held at the Kenosha
Moose Lodge #286 on Saturday,
September 5. Come down for the fun,
music, and the drawing (s).
As the state Youth Awareness chair,
and as Wisconsin will host the students
in 2017, I will be visiting the Youth
Awareness activities held this month in
Florida. I can get further insight as to
the types of activities, education,
planning,
and
selecting
of
the International winners. Remember,
five scholarships totaling $30,000 are
awarded
annually
from
Moose
International.
Have a great spring.

Time to think Golf
Yes, place July 18 on the calendar,
you Golfers.
The 2015 State Golf
Outing will be hosted by the West Bend

The
Registration
Form will be on the
state Web later this
month. It will include
Registration,

play is open to lodge / chapter members
in good standing.
Plan to attend. The initial registration

It’s Time to Think Nashville 2015
Nashville will also be “home” to the
2015 International Moose Convention
from July 3 – 7 at the Gaylord Opryland
Resort
&
Convention
Center. As
one of the
Moose
Fraternity’s most popular destinations,
Nashville has offered our members a
unique and entertaining experience
each and every time we’ve visited. Our
convention, over the 4th of July
weekend, features new and exciting
events and includes opportunities to visit
the world-famous Grand Ole Opry and
watch one of the best fireworks displays
in the country!
For the second year in a row, Moose
members will also have the chance to
participate in a variety of Heart of the
Community events, where we’ll again
show the local community what it really
means to be a Moose.
For the first time ever, the Moose will
also crown an International Karaoke
Champion who will have worked his or
her way up from the Lodge competitions
all the way to the international finals.
Come see what kind of talent our
Brothers and Co-workers possess – the
winner may be from your Lodge or
Chapter!
Don’t miss out on your opportunity to
learn more about the Moose while
having a great time with members from
across our great Fraternity.
For many of you, Nashville is a
reasonable drive away, so there’s no
excuse not to be there.
Whether you are an officer or simply
an average member, this convention
has plenty to offer. We look forward to
seeing YOU in the “Music City” next
July.
