BPGP Portage Cycling and Active Fife are proud to present The Beveridge Park Grand Prix of Cyclocross (BPGP), back for it’s second race at Beveridge Park. The event will form Round 3 of the Super Quaich series. The race will take place at Beveridge Park, Kirkcaldy, Sunday the 7th February 2016. BEVERIDGE PARK DIRECTIONS . by CAR Fire KY2 5LZ into the Sat Nav, here is the address: Beveridge Park, Kirkcaldy, Fife There is a large main Car Park as you enter the park. It will be busy, but there is ample parking around the perimeter of the park as well, the sign on is a short walk from the main car park and will be held at the Pavilion. Main Car Park Sign On TRAIN Kirkcaldy Train Station is less than a quarter mile from the park. Please check train availability from Edinburgh on the race day as a Sunday service will be in operation. www.scotrail.co.uk SIGN ON Sign on and chip collection will be at the large awning adjacent to the Park pavilion on the main straight. Remember your TLI licence as non production will result in a £5.00 charge. The timings for the day are as follows (approx) : Activity Sign on opens A and B races Course opens for practise Sign on to B race closes Time B Race Start B Race Ends 12.30 13.30 09.45 11.30 12.00 Course opens for practise 13.30 Sign on to A race closes 13.30 A Race Starts A Race Ends 14.00 15.00 Prize giving for A & B races and rider raffle. 15.15 (Open to A & B racers for 45 mins) (45 mins race + 1 lap) (Open to A racers for an additional 15 mins) (55 mins race + 1 lap) Announcements will be made to confirm when the course is open and closed. WHAT IS THE COURSE LIKE? The course is predominantly on grass, with adverse camber, switchbacks and technical turns. This mated with hurdles and stretches of flat parkland make it super fast in the dry, it will be more challenging if it is wet and muddy, but you all love that kind of thing anyway. The course also takes in the unique feature of a tarmac Start/Finish and a nippy climb up to the first corner on the hill. The 1.2 mile course will be fully taped and has a barrier finishing straight, just like you see on Sporza, it is Belgian baby PIT AREA The pits are a short distance from the Start area on the left hand side of the course. WHERE ARE THE TOILETS AND CHANGING There are public toilets at the pavilion, you can even get a hot shower if you want, put please do not try washing your kit and shoes. The facility will be manned by Gary from the Council, speak to him if you want to leave valuables in the lockers etc, facilities are open from 8am. WHERE CAN I GET SOMETHING TO EAT? The Gourmet Grill situated at the main car park do a range of hot and cold drinks and breakfast rolls, burgers etc. The Rugby Club will open again as well serving Beers and Soft Drinks and a Tea and Coffee stall from Middleden MTB Club should also be onsite, please support these guys as they are onside with the Cyclocross event here in the park. PRIZE LIST £200.00 will be set aside for the end of series prize pot and trophies. Cash prizes and goodies will also be given out on the day for the top three in both the A and B races. There will also be a top three in the Female with riders from the A and B race eligable. Prize giving will take place for both the A & B as well as Womens podiums straight after the A race. In addition to cash prizes we have a rider number raffle where any of you are eligable to win. Raffle will take place straight after the podium activity.
