Due to the severity of my illness, it has proven very difficult to find financial assistance and my savings have since been exhausted. Since being diagnosed, my diet has been drastically altered and I am only able to eat certain types of foods. I came to Neighbour to Neighbour Centre in a time of great difficulty in my life, but the care I received from the staff and volunteers was incredible. Every time I have gone to Neighbour to Neighbour for assistance, they have saved the soft foods necessary for my diet and have pointed me in the direction of obtaining the assistance I require. On Christmas Eve of 2011, I found myself with nothing to provide for my family. We had no tree, no gifts, and nothing to eat. I did not know where to turn and I did not have any place to go for help. Finally I was directed to the Neighbour to Neighbour Centre. After explaining my situation to one of their counsellors, they quickly began to help my family. They provided us with a Christmas Tree, gifts for my children, and food to eat. If it weren’t for Neighbour to Neighbour Centre we would not have had a Christmas. Thank you Neighbour to Neighbour Centre!” Volunteers preparing hampers in Neighbour to Neighbour Christmas Store This is how your $100 donation helps: In the Food Access Program, your $100 donation provides a one week supply of food for a family of four.
