1. Determine the bulb type which will be
replaced.
Refer to vehicle owners manual. In this case it
is the 3157 bulb.

2. Measure the approximate size of the
lightbulb compartment
with a ruler or tape measure.
In this case, the measurement is 3.0 inches.
Spiderlite X2 requires three (3) inches or more
in diameter for the arms to open fully.
This application would take the 5 arm
Wedge socket in the small size. (Part#
5X2WR2)
3. Follow the Spiderlite installation guide.

Spiderlite will NOT fit in taillights that do not have sufficient space for the
arms to open fully. The chart below shows taillight housings that will
NOT fit the Spiderlite.

Notes:
1. 1156 and 1157 series sockets are generally used for vehicles model year 1998 and older.
2. 3xxx series wedge sockets are generally for 1998 and newer domestically manufactured vehicles.
3. 74xx series wedge sockets are generally for late model Japanese imports.
SPIDERLITE INSTALLATION GUIDE
1. Refer to your vehicle owners manual
and review the lightbulb replacement
procedure.
2. First, connect Spiderlite to wiring harness socket.
Test the function of the Spiderlite.
Note: Wedge based Spiderlites are polarity sensitive.
If LED bulb fails to light, remove bulb, turn it 180 degrees,
and re-insert.
4. Insert Spiderlite through the
mounting hole. (Rear View)
5. Before re-mounting the wire harness socket, the
Spiderlite arm orientation can be adjusted by
rotating the body relative to the socket.
This is done to make pairs of Spiderlites symmetrical.
3. Fold Spiderlite arms into the
collapsed configuration.
6. Spiderlite automatically opens after passing
through the mounting hole. Re-mount the
wiring harness socket.
