DOES YESHUA STILL HEAL?
It’s now been five months since I was emergency airlifted
from the hospital in Odessa to University Hospital in Lubbock
as a result of internal bleeding, Meanwhile, our daughter

I had lost so much blood that they immediately began
giving me blood transfusions (I had three) and announced
that my low blood level had probably caused a minor
heart attack. (Tests later proved

probably been, but the area was completely healed.
They discharged me, and Tommie & I headed home after
a week at the Lubbock hospital. When I shared this with a
doctor friend of GLC, and told him they’d done nothing, he
laughed & said, “Now that was a miracle!”

I tell this story for several reasons. I want you to know that
miracles are still for today! Our God answers prayer!
And I want to thank you again for praying for me - I was
overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support. In
fact, I still am. Looking back, I’m reminded that University
Hospital didn’t carry GLC on their internal cable system, and
I missed it sorely. Yes, they carried several “mainline church
channels”, but as you know GLC’s programming is pretty
distinct when compared to other religious broadcasters. If
anyone in the Lubbock area would like to start a petition
drive to change that, I sure would be grateful!
Needless to say, the upcoming GLC Tour – during which I’ll
celebrate my 80th birthday – is going to be extra special!
So thanks again for those prayers that make it possible!

EMERGENCY MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
The FCC mandated EAS (Emergency Alert System) is
set to be operational by June 30, 2012. The EAS will
enable the US President to simultaneously address the
American public through all means of communication. It
applies to all broadcasters: AM, FM, Land Mobile Radio
Service, VHF, UHF, FiOS, cable television systems, wireless
cable systems, satellite digital audio radio service (SDARS)
providers, DirecTV, Dish Network and all other direct
broadcast satellite (DBS) providers. And it requires the
broadcasters to provide the communications capability
to the President.

LIVING IN AMERICA
It seems each day we’re more acutely aware of events that
are threatening our liberty. Perhaps it’s the information
we’re researching to include in our newsletter that highlights
the persecuted church around the world – persecution that
is drawing ever closer to our shores. Perhaps it’s the research
that goes into choosing articles for Update News. So
much news. News we never have enough time to share.
News the secular media is concealing from the public.
And most of it having potentially severe implications.
Perhaps it’s an awareness of Biblical prophecy being
fulfilled. Perhaps it’s a combination of all three.
So as we celebrate Independence Day this July 4th, we’re
more mindful of the freedoms we enjoy here in America.
Freedoms we so often take for granted. Freedoms that
many throughout the world are without. The winds of
political change have blown fiercely around the world in
the past year, especially in the Middle East, bringing with it
ever-increasing persecution. So this July 4th, as you throw
another burger on the grill, eat a slice of watermelon, or
simply watch a display of fireworks – truly celebrate your
freedom by remembering not only to thank Our Creator
for His goodness & mercy towards us, but by remembering
to pray for those around the world who suffer untold
persecution. But most of all, be thankful for the freedom to
pray; be thankful for our Founding Fathers who sacrificed
in hopes of giving us that privilege; and be thankful for the
men & women who died to defend that freedom. Have
a safe & happy 4th of July!

“America the Beautiful” is one of the most beloved
and popular of the many American patriotic songs. The
lyrics were written by Katharine Lee Bates and the music
composed by church organist and choirmaster Samuel A.
Ward. Bates originally wrote the words as a poem, Pikes
Peak, first published in the Fourth of July edition of the
church periodical The Congregationalist in 1895. Ward’s
music combined with Bates poem was first published in
1910 and titled America the Beautiful.
At various times in the more than 100 years that have
elapsed since the song was written there have been efforts to
give “America the Beautiful” legal status either as a national
hymn, or as a national anthem equal to, or as a replacement
for, “The Star-Spangled Banner.” We’d like to share with you
some of the most profound lyrics that are included in this
beloved song… they speak volumes!
