Page 2 Senior Moments Preserve Your Vacation Memories Summer is almost over, but don’t let your memories fade away! Preserve your photos, ticket stubs, napkins and so
much more with one (or more) of these great project ideas:
Vacation Memory Shadow Boxes – Exhibit your vacation memorabilia as art by assembling it into a striking three-dimensional display.
Memorabilia Tins – Show off a map or flier from your trip by pasting it onto a decorative tin.
No-Glue Scrapbook – Maps, ticket stubs, and receipts add an authentic touch to a vacation scrapbook,
but incorporating them can be messy. Instead, simplify the process with this glue-free scrapbook.
Customized Journal – Spark inspiration even after the journey’s over when you adorn a journal cover
with maps or other printed ephemera.
Travelogue – A travel scrapbook can incorporate anything picked up on the road –
even café napkins or business cards!
Map Memory Board – Put your vacation adventures on prominent display by creating a map memory board that traces where you’ve been.
Travel Collages – One-of-a-kind wall art can be created inexpensively when you assemble a collage
from travel
paraphernalia.
Picture-Frame Photo Box – Store snapshots from a vacation or special occasion in a box that displays
its theme.
As-You-Go Vacation Keepsake – Preserve your vacation memorabilia on the road with a handy organizer.
Collected Memories Book – Compiling “remember when” moments in an album and presenting them to a friend will
strengthen those bonds even more.
Memory Quilt – Some items are too precious to give or throw away. Instead, turn them into a memory quilt.
Bottle-Cap Magnets and Thumbtacks – A homey take on the traditional locket, bottle caps inset with small photos, can be
used as thumbtacks or magnets.
Picture Pillow – For a memorable gift or keepsake, transfer your favorite photographs onto a plain pillow.
Photo Centerpiece – Pay tribute to an honored guest, or display vacation memories on your tabletop with a set
of photo-frame lanterns.
Vacation Memory Jar – You can keep vacation memories a little stronger a little longer with vacation memory
jars. Filled with souvenirs collected on trips and pictures developed afterward, they are like little worlds that
can be visited again and again.
For the “How-To” knowledge on creating the above ideas or for more crafty ways to preserve your vacation
memories, visit www.marthastewart.com and search “Vacation and Memorykeeping Crafts.”
