Acceptable Items: • Aluminum cans (do not crush) • Aerosol cans (must be completely empty) • Brochures • Cardboard • Cereal boxes (remove wax paper lining) • Clothes hangers • Computer paper • Coupons • Envelopes (includes plastic windows) • Frozen food boxes & trays • Glass bottles, jars • Glass cosmetic bottles • Junk mail • Laundry bottles • Magazines/catalogs • Newspaper • Paper • Paper tubes • Phone books • Pizza boxes • Plastic containers #1-#7 • Plastic milk jugs • Styrofoam • Tin cans • Tissue boxes • Wrapping paper Non-Acceptable Items: • Scrap Wood & Drywall • Soiled Paper Products • Ceramic Cups & Plates • Pet Waste • Garden Hoses • Clothing & Shoes • Food Waste • Broken Toys • Light Bulbs • Diapers • Window Glass Got Extra Trash? (Recycling or Green Waste?) Burrtec Waste Industries offers a temporary three cubic yard “rent-a-bin” for residential clean-up and special projects. Larger containers are also available. Additional Barrels for trash, recycling and green waste are available for a monthly fee to residents who are in need of greater weekly capacity. Please call Burrtec’s Customer Department for more information. Service Used Oil Recycling Burrtec Waste Industries offers a waste oil collection/recycling program to residents. Burrtec will collect used oil and filters on your regular collection day (limit of 2 gallons per collection). Residents are asked to call our Customer Service Department to schedule an appointment. Used Oil Recycling Guidelines: • Used oil and waste filter collection program applies to residential customers with collection service. • Appointments are needed and can be made by calling our Customer Service Department. • Please have your containers at curbside by 6am on your service day. (Limit two gallons per collection.) • Customers are to provide container (clear plastic with a secure lid). • Container shall be no larger than 3 gallons in size. • Used waste oil filters can also be collected and recycled. • Filters must be drained and placed in a clear plastic bag (i.e., Ziploc), for at least 24 hours. There is no service interruption or delay when the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday. • Memorial Day • Fourth of July • Labor Day Sharps Waste: What is home-generated sharps waste? “Home-generated sharps waste” means hypodermic needles, pen needles, intravenous needles, lancets, and other devices that are used to penetrate the skin for the delivery of medications derived from a household including multifamily residence or household. State law prohibits residents from disposing home-generated sharps waste in the trash. For proper disposal information please call the County of San Bernardino 1-800-OILYCAT, located at 2824 East “W” Street, Bldg. 302, San Bernardino, CA hours Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Household Hazardous Waste The City of Grand Terrace offers free disposal of Household Hazardous Waste through the San Bernardino County Fire Department: San Bernardino County Fire Department HHW S.B.
