island weddings, whether they be casual or elaborate. You can
be married on the beach accompanied by the blowing of conch
shells and beating of the lali drum with Fijian warriors carrying
the bride on a traditional ceremonial chair; on the water on a
raft adorned with coconut leaves and bridal arch, escorted by
paddling Fijian warriors; or on your own private sandbar island
surrounded by crystal clear blue waters.

There are four types of flower available:
- Red and pink gingers - available all year round.
- Heliconias in dark orange & black, yellow & pink and light orange - also available all year round. ‘
- Dendrobium orchids in white, or shades of purple - in high demand and low supply between the months
of July and October; the most popular flowers for weddings.
- Pink anthurium - available all year round. There are other colour variations such as red, white, peach.
chocolate and green but these are not always available.
- Frangipani is another popular option but is seasonal and weather dependent. Beautiful arrangements of
this quintessentially tropical bloom look and smell great, however some florists discourage the use of these
flowers as they have a tendency to wilt and brown quickly after picking.

The Group Booking Policy applies to all accommodation grades in the Resort. The resort reserves the right
to substitute similar room types or to upgrade accommodation dependant on room category availability. All
accommodation booked under the group accommodation discount policy must be made on request.
Minimum Stay
Group bookings must be a minimum of 3 consecutive nights unless previously negotiated.
Payment
•A deposit is required at the time of confirmation for each booking equating to the first two nights for each
room plus Government Bed Tax & 15% VAT plus 5 % STT.
•Non receipt of this deposit within 14 days from the date of booking will result in automatic cancellation of
the booking.
•Final and full payment for all groups must be received by the Resort 30 days prior to arrival, unless prior
arrangements have been made.
Cancellations
•Group accommodation cancelled with notice of more than 45 days will not be subject to a late
cancellation fee.
•Group accommodation cancelled with notice of less than 45 days will be subject to a late cancellation fee
of two nights plus Government Bed Tax & 12.5% VAT plus 5 % STT.
• Group accommodation cancelled within 14 days of expected arrival will result in a 100% cancellation fee.

Wedding Details & Requirements
Deposit and Payment
Once you have settled on your preferred available date, you will need to secure this date with an advance
deposit of FJD$500. Please note we only hold 1 wedding per day so this deposit guarantees that date is
special just for you.
50% of the entire wedding package is therefore required 6 months prior to your wedding date and full
payment required 1 month prior.
Marriage License
To apply for your Marriage License we recommend that you send the following at least 1 month prior to your
wedding date to [email protected]
• Copy of their current passports,
• Birth certificates,
• Divorce decree (if divorced)
• Death certificate (if widowed).
• If there has been a name change, you will also need to provide supporting documentation for this.
All documents must be in English or have an official English translation.
Documents required for a Catholic Wedding:
• Baptism Certificate
• Freedom to Marry Certificate
• Pre-nuptial enquiry form, signed and endorsed by the couples parish Priest
• Notification that the couple have had their pre-marriage instruction course.
Plantation Island Resort provides an onsite wedding license registration and administration fee service
which means you don’t need to visit the Registry Office on the mainland, we take care of everything for
you. Hard copies of the marriage certificate are required to be sighted, you could either send these at a later
date to Plantation’s address or present them in person on arrival at Plantation Island Resort.
If you require an Apostle Seal on your Marriage Certificate (required by all countries other than Australia and
New Zealand), the Wedding Coordinator will personally take the original certificate to be Apostle Sealed
ONLY by the permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs. An additional cost of FJD$200 is required for the
travel expenses of the Wedding Coordinator and postage by registered mail.
