Message from the Premier
On behalf of the Government of
Saskatchewan, it is my pleasure to
congratulate all Saskatchewan athletes
who are participating in the 2009 Canada
Summer Games in Prince Edward Island.
Since 1967, the Canada Games have
evolved into the pinnacle of national
competition for Canadian athletes. These
games also include divisions for persons
with disabilities and an arts component
called the National Artist Program.
The 2009 edition brings together athletes, from all provinces and
territories competing in 18 different sports for two exciting
athletic weeks. You are among 4,400 participants, 6,000
volunteers, 10,000 visitors from ‘off-Island’, and over 300 media.
Be sure to take advantage of the warm hospitality and enhanced
facilities that this experience is certain to provide. A special thank
you to all the event coaches, staff, parents, and volunteers who
have made this ultimate inter-provincial and territorial sporting
competition possible.
Again, best of luck to our Saskatchewan athletes.
Brad Wall
Premier

Message from the Minister
Congratulations to the athletes, coaches,
managers and national artists whose
dedication and hard work has resulted in the
opportunity to represent the province as a
member of Team Sask at the 2009
Canada Summer Games in Prince Edward
Island!
The Jeux du Canada Games are one of
Canada’s premiere sporting experiences.
They are an integral part in developing sport
excellence and one more way for us to profile our fine young
athletes on the national stage.
Thank you to the parents, officials, mission staff and all the
volunteers who provide the direction and support. Your efforts
offer athletes the opportunity to commit to the values of success,
teamwork, dedication and responsibility. These things help them to
achieve their maximum potential.
Good luck and enjoy this amazing experience!
Dustin Duncan
Minister of Tourism, Parks,
Culture and Sport

Saskatchewan Games Council
Congratulations to all the members of Team
Sask competing at the 2009 Canada
Summer Games.
These games continue to provide an
opportunity for our developing athletes to
compete against the best in the country in
a multi-sport environment. For many of you
it will be a stepping stone to the next level
in your pursuit of excellence. You have
worked and trained many long, hard hours
to earn the right to represent Saskatchewan, and now you can
wear the uniform with pride.
To the host communities of Prince Edward Island, thank you for
welcoming and hosting Team Sask, their families and friends.
We appreciate the time and effort it takes to plan and organize
such a first class event and wish to express a sincere thank you
to the hundreds of volunteers for ensuring the success of the
Games.
On behalf of the Saskatchewan Games Council, I would like to
commend all members of Team Sask for your accomplishments
to date and wish you every success at these games and all
future competitions. Play hard, play fair and have fun!

Message from the Chef de Mission
Welcome to Team Sask! It gives me great
pleasure, as the Chef de Mission to
introduce the 453 members of this year’s
team. Saskatchewan should be extremely
proud of this group of fine young athletes,
coaches, managers, artists and mission staff.
They will compete and participate to the best
of their ability in this country’s premier
amateur multi-sport event and will represent
the province with pride and integrity.
Congratulations to all the athletes for your years of commitment
and dedication in striving to become a member of Team Sask
2009. Enjoy the rewards of your hard work in the pursuit of
excellence. Saskatchewan has always been proud of its athletes,
team spirit, reputation for fair play and competition performance.
Wear the provincial colors with pride and be good ambassadors for
your province.
Thank you to all the coaches and managers for your leadership
in identifying and preparing our young athletes to compete at the
best of their ability against the best from all over Canada.
Team Sask would also like to thank and congratulate the staff
and volunteers of the host organizing committee for all they have
done to ensure a positive Games experience for all participants.
I encourage all team members to take the time, every day, to say
thanks to some of those very special people.
Team Sask 2009 looks forward to the challenges, competition and
experience of the 2009 Canada Summer Games. The Team has
the desire to achieve and the spirit to excel. I wish them every
success in their pursuit of excellence at the games.

Canada Games Logo
Canada Games Logo
The new corporate logo design was created with a multi-purpose application in mind. The
main colours involved are red, gold and black. The dynamic nature of the maple leaf has a
flame-like quality to it and denotes action and energy. The gold ring encircling the maple leaf
is symbolic of the provinces and territories coming together for the Games. The ring is also
a sign of continuity, stability, and strength and the colour gold is representative of the quest
for excellence.
The typeface chosen for the word mark is both elegant and strong. Its clean edges and
classic styling allows for legibility as well as effective reproduction and has a classical quality
that will endure the test of time.
The leaf in the ring should be strong enough to stand on its own and over time become
recognized and associated with the Canada Games.

Team Sask Logo
Team Sask Logo
After almost two years of creative planning and intense deliberation The Saskatchewan
Games Council is proud to finally present three new logos. These logos represent the development, athleticism and achievement of the Council and its two products the Saskatchewan
Games and Team Sask. With the design of the new logos, the Council decided to modify the
name Team Saskatchewan to Team Sask.
The Council designed the logos with the desire to brand itself and its products with a unified
visual identity. As you can see the Council, Team Sask and the Saskatchewan Games logos’
are connected by a unifying icon. This distinct icon will become visually recognizable and
memorable to the public for many years to come.
The unifying icon in the Saskatchewan Games Council, Team Sask and the Saskatchewan
Games Logos was created with a multi-purpose application in mind. The icon represents an
athlete in motion, reaching toward success. The S portion of the icon works as the letter S in
Saskatchewan but it also reminds the viewer of the S in sport.
The Team Sask logo differs slightly from the others as the unifying icon is gold and the
words Team Sask are encircled in a green ring. The gold is representative of the Team Sask
athlete’s pursuit of excellence in sport. The green ring symbolizes the continuity, stability and
strength of Saskatchewan and its athletes.
